Realistic Slowing and Starting of Trains Without Digital
For everyone who has wondered how to enjoy the realism of trains that slow to a stop and start up gently, here is a diagram of how I achieve this effect using a Marklin 6600 controller. I am not sure whether this procedure will work with the Uhlenbrock or other manufacturers' modules for slowing and starting of trains, but I suspect it will. Note that the train control is completely independent of the "visible" signal, so it is possible to incorporate this idea even in locations where no signal is present (for example: small stations on rural lines).
