Who am I?

I hate starting these things. Do I tell you anyting? Do I tell you the standard facts? Fun facts? Hard statistics? How much information do you actually care about?

First, I love knowing about people, so I will tell you things. Also, since this is my site, I get to tell you whatever I deem interesting or important. That's the beauty of websites. I basically just ramble, you pick and choose what you read.

Backstory

Born and raised in middle o' nowhere Michigan by two music majors, which should tell you something right away. When I was two years old, my younger sister was born, though news of her arrival was overshadowed by my grandparent's posession of a tape recorder (there is hard evidence of this, which comes out when my family wants to embarass me). Went to a tiny, public elementary school, then to a small public middle school, and finally graduated from a equally small public high school in 1999 with 4 years of band (flute, hold the band camp jokes) of some sort, 2 of choir in mulitple forms, 5 of cross country and track, 3 of volleyball, and 3 of cheerleading (sideline and competetive) under my belt.

And now?

I am currently in my third year at Hollins University, where I am majoring in Child Psychology (in other words, my kids will hate me) and minoring in Vocal Music (really, I'm a music major in denail). I sing in the chapel choir (and am also the treasurer. heh.) and HollinSingers, am active with the volleyball team on various levels, participate in the local symphony's education division by singing in elementary schools with some fellow students and am generally just enjoying college.

So, what do you want to do with your life?

Um, not be a teacher? It's off to grad school with me after next year, so hopefully I'll have an answer for you by the time I'm done there. As of now, I just know that I a) want to work closely with kids and b) want to use music in some way.
