Studio 54 was a whole nother world, filled with drugs, sex and rock and roll. This dream world was thought up by a man named Steve Rubell who ran the club and hand picked only the most fashionable people to be let inside. The club not only reflected his personality but also his sexuality, and he called everyone inside his "freinds". Inside Studio 54 was a swarm of celebrity's, which captivated the public. Many people would stand outside the popular nightclub shouting at Steve Rubell night after night. The Nightclub was taken over by new ownership shortly after being busted by the IRS for money laundering. After a 3 year jail sentence Steve Rubell was released on probation and allowed to open the club again under a partnership. Shortly after the re-opening of the nightclub it closed it's doors forever. Steve Rubell died of aids in 1987.
