"The Letter I Never Sent"

The letter I never sent was written to someone I do not know.
A letter asking for forgiveness, so I could let the sorrow go.
Admittance for mistakes and for the wrong roads taken.
Pledging unconditional love to never be forsaken.
The letter I never sent spoke of many things I had meant to say.
Asking the receiver, "Forget yesterday, and feel for me today?"
Refreshing the memory of what the important times had meant,
And recapturing the special moments of time well spent.
The letter I never sent did not reach an ending,
For with every word, my existence began mending.
Telling a tale for not another soul ever to see.
The only soul to see it, would happen to be me.
The letter I never sent was a lighthouse in the sea.
Helping me over the waves, and continuously guiding me.
Lighting my way through the storms up ahead.
And soothing rays of light, to rest my weary head.
The letter I never sent was never something to send.
Not to my parents, family, not even to a friend.
It continues to write itself to gently become free,
For the letter I never sent, is a letter to me.
