Traditional Sugar Cookies



1/2 cup butter, at room temp
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 Tablespoon milk or cream
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg and then the milk. Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Stir them into the butter mixture. Chill dough for 3 hours or more. Roll out and use cookie cutters for different shapes. Bake at 375 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are brown.
