This is the other cheese ball I am always asked to bring places. It has served us well Christmas after Christmas. Sometimes I think my family has no imagination. This is just one of those throw together appetizers...experiment and play with it...the variations are endless.
2 8oz pkgs. cream cheese
2 tsp. whorchestershire sauce
1 onion - diced fine
Green pepper to taste - diced fine
2 pkgs. dried beef - rinsed & chopped
1 tsp. lemon juice
Soften cream cheese to room temperature.
Rinse dried beef thoroughly under running lukewarm water and drain.
Mix all ingredients on medium speed until combined.
Chill for 4 to 6 hours.
2 hours before serving, shape into ball and chill until served.
This is one of my favorite variations...
Add:
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
2 tsp. prepared horseradish (or as much as you like to taste)
Mix in with above ingredients.
Place in covered bowl and chill at least 4 hours.
It will be much creamier and dipable as opposed to the chilled ball.
