I'll admit it. I'm an addict. A Nezhead with Torkaholic Tendencies.
The Monkees are in trouble!
So who are these Monkees? What do they do? And why are they so important?
But these guys were young in the sixties, they must be dead by now. How can you still like them?
Have you ever actually seen these old guys?

A Dolenz Freak and a Jones Junkie. In short, I love the Monkees!
For years incompetent people have been saying that the Monkees were only actors pretending to be musicians. Once before a concert a reporter asked Mike Nesmith "Do you play you own instruments?" Mike picked up his guitar and looked at the reporter. "Well, I sure hope so. I'd be in big trouble if I walked out on stage tonight, in front of thousands of people, and couldn't play a note!"
If the Monkees didn't play their own instruments, whose did they play?
Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork, Mike Nesmith, and Davy Jones are the for actor/musicians who answered an add in the newspaper for "four crazy and insane boys". They had a television show, they performed concerts, they wrote music, they did everything! Although the group was never given much credit, they were one of the greatest music group of all times. They had an award winning television show. They made a movie. They were famous ... and still are.
The Monkees are not dead. Any of them. In fact they are all in their 50s and doing well. Recently (1996-7?) they released a new album "Justus" and I have to say, it's wonderful.
Yes, In April of 1997 my friends Jean and Ronnie accompanied me to see the Monkees in concert. Three of the four guys were there (it was when Mike wasn't touring with them) and they sang beautifully. At the end of the concert everyone sang "Daydream Believer" and it was heart stopping. After the concert Jean and I sat by the stage and sang Monkee songs until the cops made us leave. Needless to say we didn't sleep for weeks after that. The concert was an amazing adrenaline rush! I also just saw Davy Jones in concert on August 14, 1998. It was the Teen Idol Tour with Peter Noone and Bobby Sherman. That concert experience is linked below.
This page has the greatest Micky Dolenz slide show I've ever seen... Come to think of it, it's the only Micky Dolenz slide show I've ever seen... At any rate this page is groovy. It takes awhile to load, but its worth it.
This is the OFFICIAL Monkee page. Its where you can find out about tours, episodes, song lyrics, products to buy ... anything and everything.
This page is dedicated to my most favirotist movies of all time... HEAD. I know, I know ... it sounds like some cheap porn flick ... but its not! I swear! HEAD was the movie made by the Monkees in the late sixties. It has great music, great stars and has become one of the greatest cult classics of all time.
Like I said before, I'm a Monkee addict. But I'm not the only one! There are thousands of us, maybe even millions. We are the ones who flocked around the television last summer for Nick at Nite's Monkee Mondays. We are the ones who got mad and picketed N@N when they replaced the Monkees with green acres. We are the ones who spend all our money on Monkee paraphaniela. We are the die hard fans!
This is one of the most outtasite Monkee sites I've ever seen. This guy must have spent YEARS typing up and finding all that information. This site has info on rumors, products, links, alblums, everything!
Another great site with Monkee pictures and links and stuff.
Another world class Monkee shrine. Deffinetly worth checking out.
By looking at the title you can see that this is yet another Monkee fan site. Although this one states that it is the grooviest.
