4 Types of Writing

Descriptive Writing

Descriptive Writing is to describe a person, place or thing in such a way that a picture is formed in the reader's mind.
For Example: Suddenly she saw the house, tucked away behind the trees almost in the shadow of the hill.

Narrative Writing

Narrative Writing is generally writing about an event in a personal way.
For Example: I will never forget the day my pet hamster died.

Expository Writing

Expository Writing is a type of writing which is to inform, explain, describe, or define the author's subject to the reader.
For Example: In 1997, 175,000 volunteers picked up three million pounds of garbage along the coasts of the United States.

Persuasive Writing

Persuasive Writing is a type of writing used to convince the reader of writer's argument relating to a debatable issue.
For Example: Many dogs are being harmed and/or killed each day, please donate now and save a dog.
