Earliest Known Thornton's were 3 brothers...
1) Joseph Thornton - died in America about 1750
2) Samuel Thornton - a Captain in William's Army, died in Ireland around 1790
3) Joshua Thornton - nothing is known about him...
One of the above brothers was apparently the father of
Thomas Thornton
