Personal Statement

UCAS personal statement

A lot of Unis don’t interview you for a place so the personal statement that you send with your application is the only way they will find out about you.  So you have to sell yourself!
In your personal statement should talk about why you want to study the course, what you want to do for your career and lots of information about yourself.  This can be about your hobbies, work expereince and ambitions.
You need to include the personal statement in your UCAS application, but you need to draft it out first.  Your College tutor will help check it though with you if you want.  The space you have to write your statement in is limited to 4,000 characters (including spaces) or 47 lines of text (this includes blank lines). You dont have to use all the space if you don’t need it, but check your draft fits these limits.
