The U2 is an Irish rock n'roll  band who was formed in 1976. All artists are from Dublin, Ireland's capital city. They are still active today, in 2012. So, they've been playing for 36 years.

The band has four members:

- Paul Hewson a.k.a. Bono: the band's singer and vocals artist. Born in 1960, he became a member of the U2 at 16 years old. He had a sad childhood and had many health problems during his life. He is a fantastic songwriter.

- David Evans a.k.a. The Edge: the guitarist and part-time singer. Born in 1951, he grew up in England and had a duo band with his brother Dik, then joined the U2. Evan's amazing guitar playing has inspired many modern guitarists. He could play his instrument the way he wants. He is one of the biggest guitarists of all time.

-Adam Clayton: the bassist. Born in 1960, he grew up in England, like Evans. He plays many solos on the U2 songs. The bass is a small guitar which has many options and sounds. Clayton has won 22 Grammy awards and is a fantastic bassist.

-Larry Mullen Jr.: the drummer. He works a lot with  Adam Clayton and often plays slowly in the drum. He is one of the only drummers who doesn't play the rhythm. Born in 1961, he grew up in Ireland and is the youngest U2 member
