What to Expect During The 2011 Football Season

After a long off season strike, and a late start of training camps it is time for the 2011 season. There were some awesome preseason games which showed a preview of what to expect this year.

Divisions

AFC East

1. Jets - A strong defensive team that plugged some big holes through trades and parolees. Should be very competitive this season.
2. Patriots - The defensive line is a group of delinquents that other teams don't want. If not for the explosive offense this team would be more like the Raiders.
3. Dolphins - The defense is much improved. The offense is a mess. Bottom line is they will lose a lot of low scoring games
4. Bills - This team continues to put a terrible product on the field. Very cheap on payroll and poorly run. LA here are your Bills.

AFC North

1. Ravens - A very explosive team offensively and very strong on defense. Will be a super bowl contender.
2. Steelers - Some excellent skill players and a strong defense. The offensive line needs to be fixed if they are to contend
3. Bengals - Despite being the cheap Bungles there is a lot of good young talent which will make them competitive again in a year.
4. Browns - Once again the Browns will frequently make the highlight films, for their opponents of course.

AFC South

1. Texans - A fantasy owners dream team. Lots of studs along with an improved defense.
2. Titans - Should be very competitive just by keeping it simple. Run the ball and play defense.
3. Colts - Already hit hard by injuries. A major collapse is likely as they figure out how to rebuild the team next year.
4. Jaguars - Like the Bills they try to lose. A poorly run team that has no clue what to put on the field. Will be picking high for sure.

AFC West

1. Chargers - Slow starts and and poor coaching kill them, but in this weak division they will be competitive
2. Chiefs - On the verge of being a contender. They remind me of the Niners of the 80s.
3. Raiders - Absolutely horrendous in preseason, but their popular east coast castoffs will make them attractive to watch.
4. Broncos - This team is worse than a horror movie. Will have difficulty winning four games like last season.

NFC East

1. Eagles - Over achieved last season and now have their best runner back and a terrific defense.
2. Redskins - Much improved on the lines and should be ready to compete by next season once a QB is found.
3. Giants - Too many holes because of a salary cap dump. Will be playing for next season.
4. Cowboys - The salary cap destroyed any chances they had to compete this season. Too much talent had to be let go. Now they are as bad as the Bills and Broncos on the field, and soon there will be a lot of empty seats in Dallas.

NFC North

1. Packers - Better than the team that won the Super Bowl last season. Can move the ball at will. Green Bay still looks like it did 45 years ago.
2. Lions - The preseason champions are getting better on both sides of the ball. They were 0-16 not that long ago. Now they are a playoff team.
3. Bears - A killer schedule early in the season will have them rebuilding by the end the season.
4. Vikings - One dimensional on offense and easy to pass on. Will be frequently blown out and get a high pick.

NFC South

1. Buccaneers - Much improved on the lines and that will put them in contention
2. Saints - Explosive on offense, but some injuries early on will stop the march.
3. Falcons - Can score at will, but can't stop the pass and will be hard pressed to compete until they do.
4. Panthers - Will pick high once again. Too many holes were not addressed in the off season.

NFC West

1. Rams - On the verge of completing one of the best rebuilding jobs of all times. Will become a regular in the playoffs for several years unless the front office messes up.
2. Forty Niners - Should be more competitive this season but they need to mature more before becoming a contender.
3. Seahawks - Did not belong in the playoffs last year. This team is no better. Too many holes on both sides.
4. Cardinals - Should be better on offense. Should be a disaster on defense.
