Marketing Plan and Online Presentation
For your Marketing Plan and Online Presentation you will need to form teams of approximately three to five members. The size of your team will vary based on the number of students enrolled in the class. Your instructor will notify you during the first week with how many members should be on each team.
Some options for communicating as a team would be to use the ANGEL course system. One tool found in this system is to use your Discussion Forum that will be set up for each team. Once the members of your team have been identified and a team name has been agreed upon, please notify the instructor immediately so Discussion Forums and folders can be set-up. Shortly after (by the second week), please email your instructor your Marketing Plan topic so approval can be given to your idea and the team can begin work on this plan. You have also been reminded to do this in the Virtual Team Formation section.
Another option for communication is utilizing Skype. As a requirement for this course, I have included a computer headset so that you will be able to communicate on services such as this. Many of you probably already have a headset, but if you don't, pick one up at Best Buy or order from Amazon.com. Skype will allow you to communicate together online and offers much more flexibility than a virtual chat room.
A very good website for resources for virtual teams and information on how to make teams work is www.effectivemeetings.com. Please take advantage of some this information for effective virtual teams.
Marketing Plan Project
Marketing Plan & Online Presentation
Every business and organization should have a Marketing Plan. A Marketing Plan is a road map that helps guide the marketing activities of a company through a certain period of time. It is through the process and efforts of careful planning and implementation that makes one successful. The development of a Marketing Plan is an excellent way to incorporate the key principles learned in this course including introductions of products/services, target marketing and positioning, strategic initiatives, strategies and tactics, SWOT analysis, competition, marketing mix, promotional mix, sales, pricing and budgets and evaluation monitors. The expectations and components of this project are outlined below.
- The Marketing Plan & Online Presentation will be completed as a team consisting of approximately three to five other students.
- You determine the timeframe for the Marketing Plan. Your plan can be developed for one, two or three years. Marketing plans that go beyond a three year timeframe often undergo many changes. Most students do Marketing Plans for one year.
- To allow your creative juices to flow, you have an unlimited budget. This is unheard of in marketing! In most cases, budgets are already determined and the development of the Marketing Plan needs to fall within these financial constraints. However, with no budgetary restrictions you can be more creative and utilize more resources.
- If outside statistics or references are used or cited in your plan, be sure to include a bibliography or works cited page. APA style is recommended. Reference the New McGraw-Hill Handbook for formatting.
Deliverables
Each team will:
- Submit a 15 -30 page Marketing Plan in the last week of the course.

- Complete a team evaluation form on each group member, which will provide information and points on the participation, attendance, and contributions of each individual of the marketing team.
The instructor has provided a step-by-step process that each team will follow. This will help keep each student on track and make this assignment much more manageable. Please read through each section below and submit the required information by the due date.
