We would like to say a huge THANK YOU!!!! to everyone who
generously donated their time, talents and $$$ donations to the Walk Now for Autism Hawaii
2008. It was a huge success with Allyson's Fan Club raising $4,466, making Allyson's Fan Club rank the 3rd highest team
fundraiser in the state! Woo hoo! Caran managed to raise $1,220 which qualifies her
for the Inaugural
The total raised for the entire Walk Now for Autism Hawaii 2008 was over $130,000 and over 1,200 people attended the walk. Our team walked together with our Allyson's Fan Club t-shirts drawn by Auntie Kathy Tam, provided by Auntie Patty Tam, and silk screened by Alicyn Castro and April Mabe and orchestrated by Jay Jacinth. The walk was held on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Ala Moana Beach Park’s Magic Island. It was a gorgeous day and lots of fun!
Jay also did a beautiful banner that you see at the top of the page, designed the buttons everyone wore, and he made an awesome sign to lead the way for the entire team.
A big thank you to our dedicated bunch of family and friends who stayed overnight to reserve the perfect spot for our headquarters and picnic area for the next morning. What hardcore Allyson fans!

Just a quick update on Ally: She is now mainstreamed into a regular kindergarten class with a one to one aide and is doing excellent! She is far exceeding everyone's expectations! We have recently added some new minerals and vitamins into her daily regimen and within a few days we saw a dramatic difference. She is so happy and is able to self-regulate and transition better than ever before. Her one to one aide, Miss Melissa, is doing an excellent job with Ally's daily schedule, sensory diet, and social skills. Ally's classmates are helpful, kind and patient with her. She is now saying more phrases and sentences meaningfully. She can now say things like, "Good morning ________" and addresses the appropriate person, and she is able to initiate play with others! Her appetite is better and she's not so fragile and thin as she was before. She has a wonderful kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Oakes and a Special Education teacher, Mrs. Natalia, who recently awarded her with a "Problem Solving" award in front of the whole school assembly! Here's the pictures:
