Team Austin In Motion wants to represent the capitol city of Texas, one of the most unique and fit cities in the country, at the toughest race on the planet - Primal Quest 2008.  As an older team of three women and one man who live, work and train here, we want to show that ordinary Austinites can accomplish extraordinary goals.

Austin beckoned me in the Spring of 1996 with its siren-call of rivers, lakes, hills and trees -- not to mention great people, neighborhoods,  restaurants, I could go on and on... I started a private practice in physical therapy and massage therapy here at Dynamic Health Center, and then, with barely one foot on the ground, was lured into adventure racing.  Truly, I was yanked out of a good sleep at 5 a.m. (Sept. 2000) to go do a race for which I did not sign up, and I have been racing ever since.  Starting mountain-biking at the age of 51 was daunting (actually terrifying), but I persist; and now I enjoy the great Austin vistas like never before--up close and personal on a regular basis, and I love it.  Thank you Austin!

As a former LBJ science teacher and wrestling coach, I was blessed with an unquenchable desire to perpetually test myself. When I moved to Leander Jr High, the students there constantly tested me.  After 13 years in the education profession, I decided to help Austinites learn how to live healthier.  I became a chiropractor in 1995 and have been working with the best patients in the entire universe at Dynamic Health Center.  I believe that we can learn something valuable from every
experience we have.  I still have the desire to test myself.  That is why I am wanting to compete in the toughest race on the planet with three women from Austin.

I have lived in Austin since 1981... When I first moved here I got a job at the old Night Hawk restaurant down on Congress having no clue what kind of institution it really was. I was always blown away during home games when the restaurant would go on a 1 1/2 hour wait. Not long after I became a longhorn and graduated UT. Both my children were born here. I am a stay at home mom and co-own a local adventure racing company called toocoolracing.com. I know how lucky I am to live in a city that has so many outdoor treasures. I love Austin!

A very fortunate lay-off in Houston landed me in Austin in 1995.  As a mountain bike racer - this was brilliant!  I've been mountain bike racing since 1994, and adventure racing since 2000. Austin is a perfect place to live for adventure race training. My husband and I recently bought an older home so when I'm not racing or working as a Project Manager for the state, we have plenty of projects to remodel the house. My mom went to UT and lived in the Shriner dorm.  She would tell us great stories about swimming at Barton Springs.  My brother followed living at Dobie and I fell in love with Austin the very first time I visited him.
