Dilip says, “I wish I had the power to make the world listen to the Eternal Rhythm of Shiva.  When I play my tabla I sometimes start feeling the presence of the primordial sound. It’s surely there.”

Dilip is primarily a tabla player who always wants to give. He learnt tabla in ‘guru-shishya parampara’ under the doyens like Ustad Jehangir Khan Saheb, Pandit Gobindo Bose and Pandit Shyamal Bose. The learning with this extraordinary musicians went on for more than 40 years. Dilip still feels that the he requires more understanding. So, he is now looking inside, trying to discover ‘real self’ through music.

Dilip discovers himself afresh every day. He loves to provide tabla support to good musicians. Supporting the musicians is always fun. Dilip says that discovering music through unified effort creates interesting musical manifestations. It’s always fresh, always different.
