The Summer Palace is one of the most favorite tourist attraction. This attraction is located in Beijing and is one of the finest recreation areas in the city. Summer Palace was initially a place for the emperors to go when to the heat was way too hot. This garden made began to mark its territory in the 1970s. However, it started to become untouched in the 18 th century. There was hope when Emperor Qianlong returned to the construction of the Summer Palace. After large amounts of money and time were dedicated to the completion of the Garden of Clear Ripples, it had been burnt down by Anglo-French allied forces.  Empress Dowager Cixi, in the 19 th century, restored its faith and renamed it the Garden of Nurtured Harmony.
