MACBOOK WITH WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM
The
MacBook is a brand of notebook computers manufactured by Apple Inc.
from early 2006 to late 2011. Positioned as the low end of the MacBook
family, the Apple MacBook was aimed at the consumer and education
markets. It was the best-selling in history. According to the
sales-research organization in October 2008, the mid-range model of the
MacBook was the single best-selling laptop of any brand in US retail
stores for the preceding five months.
There have been three separate
designs of the MacBook. A third design was introduced in October 2009,
is now reserved for the higher-end MacBook Pro. On July 20, 2011, the
MacBook was quietly discontinued for consumer purchase in favor of the
new MacBook Air. Apple continued to sell the MacBook to educational
institutions until February 2012. The MacBook has effectively been
superseded by the MacBook Air.
A MacBook Pro is not only a fairly
reliable machine for running Apple's Mac OS X operating system, but also
also apparently a great choice for Windows 8 users.
According to a
report which recorded details of thousands of crashes, application hangs
and frustratingly long boot times over three months, the best laptop to
run Windows on is an Apple MacBook Pro.
The study by Soluto, which
provides remote management tools for PCs, recorded information on
224,144 crashes and 84,251 blue-screens. It then used "frustration
analytics" to work out which computer offered the most trouble-free
operation.
The MacBook Pro 13 beat more traditional Windows-running
rivals from Acer, Dell and Lenovo. Apple's larger MacBook Pro 15in also
came in at sixth place. But iPhone
Apple also had the dubious distinction of selling the most expensive
laptop in the top 10, in the 15in version, and the most expensive in the
top three, in the 13in version.
"The MacBook Pro is the most
expensive PC among the top three, but if you’re looking for top
reliability - the data is clear. MacBook Pro is the best Windows PC on
the market," said the company.
However, because you cannot buy an
Apple laptop with Windows new, the test was performed on clean
installations. Soluto admits that this may give Apple an advantage over
other manufacturers which ship with Microsoft's OS installed from the
factory as they often include "crapware" that can slow the machine or
even cause crashes.
The company also points out that while the laptop
may be the least frustrating to use once setup with Windows, it will
take a lot more work to begin with.
