What to do in Andalucía, Mijas


Set in the hills of Andalucía overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mijas is a perfect location for a shot break or a relaxing holiday in one of the many apartments Mijas properties available here. One would be surprised to find a rock gorge in the middle of town within the botanical gardens of Parque Muralla. But there is one and it is professionally customized for rock climbing and bouldering. It is free for both amateurs and professional to practice their skills in a professional setting.


Ethnological Museum of Mijas


Exhibiting utensils of fishing, farming and general ancient life, this museum also shows a wine cellar and an oil mill. Photography and paintings from local artistes is also on display. Entrance to the museum is free and is accomplished by wine tasting.


Walking and hiking.


Many fans of mountain walking and hiking sought after Mijas. Several clearly marked routes can be found in the hills directly behind the town. The local tourist office also provides a free map of the routes. Walks vary in difficulty levels and time. There are spectacular views and walkers can also visit the local shrine located on one of the routes.


Museum of Miniatures


This is the most popular sightseeing destination for the Asians. The museum showcases over 360 pieces collected by Professor Max during his travels around the world. The detailed craftsmanship is admirable.
