Facial Hair and Shaving

Understanding your facial hair gives you the ability to deal with it. It is something to embrace since you don't really have much of a choice. The thing is done correctly, facial hair can be used to your advantage to not just look better, probably more distinguished but also vary your style a bit. After all, men, unlike women, don't have as much ability to change their hair styles because it's often kept at short length.

Types of Facial Hair

Here are some of the popular facial hair choice you can try to switch up your look once in a while.

Beard

The beard is something that can be a great facial accessories. A lot of people in history has donned well known beards. The number one person would probably be Abraham Lincoln. He're someone who you'd easily recognize quickly because of his beard, aside from the dress code he wears. If you grow a beard you'll want to keep it clean by washing it regularly like you do your hair. And to keep it neat, trim you beard occasionally.

Goatee

When people talk of a beard, they often mean a full beard. That means your entire chin and jaw line is covered with hair for the most part. Some people, would prefer less of a commitment. This would be a partial beard, one of the most popular of which is the goatee. This covers only the surrounding areas of the mouth, from portion between the nose and top of the lip for beside the tips of lips all the way down the chin. Goatees are shorter than full beards since they don't cover the part between the sideburns and cheeks. With either partial or full beards, chances are you'll need a beard trimming apparatus or something similar to keep in tidy. For this you'll want a trimmer that has close shaving ability so you can trim the goatee area and cleanly shave the other sections of your face.

Moustache

Before you'll be able to get to anywhere near a beard, everyone will pass through the moustache. Moustaches as very common because they are the first things that often grown on a male's face aside from the hair on your head. One of the best known moustaches of all time is that of Tom Selleck's, better known to everyone as Magnum P.I., who's thick moustache is his trademark. In fact I remember a time when he shaved it off and he just didn't look right. I guess he felt the same way too and so grew it back.

Sideburns

Sideburns are a different type of facial hair. That's because they don't start growing from your face per se, but are extensions of the hair on your head. They start growing from right in front of your ears and come right down to complete the beard. These are the first areas that barbers would generally cut off as they descend on the lower part of your face when cutting your hair. While many people disregard styling sideburns. They can become a fashion style as they were back in the 70's.

Stubble

The stubble is what grows right before any beard is formed. If you're young or just going through adolescence, chances are you're not going to get that stubble look. You actually can if you consider on the part of the upper lip area. But when speaking of stubble looks, people often refer to that of a person who usually has grown a beard before and shaved it off just a day or couple of days before. The regrowth of the beard will first appear in the form of stubble covering the entire area the beard use to be in.
