A video game, also referred to as interactive entertainment, is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device.

Video games use electronic systems called platforms. Some examples of platforms are personal computers, video consoles and mini portable consoles.  The consoles provide interaction with the player such as audio through speakers, the ability to provide own feedback through microphones and vibrations.

In 2000, Sony estimated that 1 out of every 4 households in the US had a Sony PlayStation. Since then, the numbers have continued to increase rapidly. Other popular consoles include XBOX and the Nintendo Wii. ‘Gaming’ has become so popular that now, each year there is a show called ‘E3’ which is the ‘superbowl’ of video games.
