Swim Safe 2009

Did you Know....?

Drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional, injury-related death among children under the age of 15, annually claiming the lives of over 1000 children in the U.S alone (Pool Drowning Statistics, 2007)

Swim Safe is a free one-day event held by Metropolis Water Safety, which aims to educate people about water safety around children, to help reduce the risk of accidental drowning and other water-related accidents that children are involved in.

The one day event is filled with lots of activities including:

  1. First aid demonstrations.
  2. Introductory learn to swim classes for children.
  3. Demonstrations of water safety products such as pool fences, and floatation devices.
  4. Entertainment for children

There will be food and drinks for sale all day.

Swim safe is held at the Metropolis public swimming pool and will start at 9am, and go throughout the day until 4pm.
The event will be held at the Metropolis public swimming pool between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Saturday 22nd August 2009.
