"To whom it may concern,

This is a letter of reference regarding Roxi’s Dayhome. A few years ago my daughter, who was 12 months at the time, was cared for at Roxi and Al’s dayhome. Roxi looked after my daughter for two years. Roxi’s home was always very organized and clean. She provided snacks and meals that were nutritious. My daughter especially enjoyed her homemade soup. Roxi welcomed my daughter into her home and made her one of the family. My daughter was well cared for and enjoyed going to visit the dayhome. Roxi was very caring towards our daughter. Roxi was especially very good with infants and toddlers. She also provided a variety of clean toys for the kids to play with and some crafts. My daughter enjoyed the opportunity to paint.

Finding a place and person to leave your child with is an incredibly difficult and heart wrenching decision to make for any mom, especially for a new mom. When we met Rosie and came to her home in search of a place for our child, I felt instantly at ease. Rosie was excellent with my son from the first day and was incredibly understanding as to what I as a new mom was going through regarding leaving my child with a stranger. She was very organized with lists and information as to how the process would go. Her professionalism allowed me to feel comfortable with the decision to have her care for my child.

Rosie was very accommodating to our slightly unusual schedule, allowing my son to arrive earlier than normal. She always made him feel like he was coming home to her rather than coming for a visit or to be “babysat”. Her background with childhood development, her history of being a mom and her good hearted nature made my son happy in her home. She provided wonderful meals and my favourite part of her care was the “Report Cards” we received at the end of the day letting us know what our son had done that day, from eating to sleeping and beyond, as a mother who was used to knowing how her child spent every moment, it eased my mind for that knowledge to continue even though I wasn’t with him.

I would highly recommend Joanna’s Day home for anyone looking for childcare. We are so sorry to be leaving and wouldn’t except for a relocation that was unavoidable. Rosie has a beautiful heart and it shows in how she cares for the children in her care."

I have three beautiful kids and I am blessed to have the opportunity to stay at home with them. Now it is time for them to know the joy of having a play team :)

I love kids and my belief is: Whatever I do for your kids today, someday, somebody is going to do for mine. For that I give my all to my children and to yours, because I was there. I had to work and leave my oldest son at the daycare, and spent countless hours at work hoping he would be cared for.

My job is so important and precious. I help you build little hearts with care, compassion, happiness, and love. I offer you a relaxed, safe, clean, comfortable place. We have a lots of activities: kids workout, English circle time (ABCs, numbers, colors, animals, seasons etc), Spanish circle time, colouring, painting, art, movies, songs in both languages, interactive educacional activities, "Your Baby Can Read" DVD programs, story time, etc. During good weather we will go out every day. We have a playground within walking distance. We celebrate birthdays as well.

My dayhome is located in the Foxhaven area of Sherwood Park, we have a spacious area in our home with natural light and lots of toys, gated fence for our backyard, child-proof precautions, smoke-free, alarm system.

I am childcare certified (Grant MacEwan University) with several years of experience in my country in an Elementary School and have been gaining further experience in Canada since 2006. I am first aid certified, able to provide criminal checks and references.

I will provide breakfast, lunch and two snacks under Health Canada`s Food Guide.

My dayhome is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
