History Of Rana

The picturesque, country town of Truro holds a secret. Rana Rogon has the perfect life working as a human rights activist in the city and running with her daring boyfriend, Andy Pigeon.

However, when she finds a crumpled death certificate in her cellar, she begins to realize that things are not quite as they seem in Truro.

Then while helping an old woman, that was being thrown from her house, she thanks her, and  leaves Rana with some startling questions about her past. After helping her to a new home, she grabs Rana hand, holding it with dread in her eyes.  The oold woman whispers to Rana, as if the walls have ears, she tells her what she see's in her hand. "In the kingdom of the south, a warrior of war will ascend. The dog planet foretells famine. In the village of the south, a knight of lies will tremble. A time of plenty will follow." With this she seems to slip off into a deep sleep, leaving Rana to sets off to wild Trurohead to find some answers.

At first the people of Trurohead are gentle and cute. She is intrigued by the curiously rough fighter, Raymond Fish. However, after he introduces her to hard drugs, Rana slowly finds herself drawn into a web of vandalism, lust and perhaps, even murder.

Rana lives in Truro, a small harbour town, located in the north. A small poor fishing villiage, with the normal run of the mills homes and shops. But nothing could make her believe stuff she was seeing here in Trurohead.

Once she finds a room for the night at The Scoundrel's Candle Inn, a run down looking inn at that. It is located in a residential outskirts ward, surrounded by winding avenues and shabby row houses. The street outside is lined with a simple iron fence. Feeling her backbone gnaws at her belly, she sits down as the innkeeper comes over. She is an overweight female elf named Hlakea. " Tonights special is salted pork and wheat biscuits, with a tankard of Cider. But of course thats all we have any way" Laughing as she puts the plate in front of Rana. Not wanting to really eat the stuff, she closes her eyes and digs in.

Her belly now full with not her first choice fo food, but full, she pulls out the crumbled birth certificate. Looking over it for any clues, as to where to begin her search. Noticing a shadow cross her eye sight she looks up into the eyes of a dark stranger. "May I have a few words with you M'Lady." As he pulls out the chair she looks him over, he is rough in appearance, with golden hair and bright amber eyes. He wears leather armor and wields a short sword by his side. Nodding slightly seeing as he was not waiting for her to answer. "My name is Raymond Fish, and it is a pleasure to meet you."

"My name is Rana, from  Truro to the north of here." Rana told him as she turned the paper over. Not going un-noticed by Raymond as she turn the paper over, " Rana you have nothing to fear from me, well not tonight no way. I couldn't help but see you have a birth certificate that seems to seen better days. But if you have come here looking for help with it, you better have a lot of gold." Putting the paper back in the folds of her top, Rana looks at the stranger. "Why would I need gold to find out about my birth?" Not hiding what she was after. Taking a not so clean glass from beside the pitcher, Raymond purs a half glass of her cider. "Hope you don't mind." Turning it up in one gulp, laying the glass back down. " All of the goverment here are crooks, if you don't have gold, you don't get anything."

As Rana looks down with near tears in her eyes she tells him the story of finding the birth certificate in the basement, and that the names on it are not her parents. "I don't know what to do, I don't have much gold at all, but I must get to the end of this. I have always thought Goneli and Bonda where my parents, but now I know something is wrong."

Standing Raymond leans over whispering, " I can help you with the gold part if you have a mind to, um shall we say, if you don't mind how we come across it." Standing up Rana draws back knocking him to the floor, drawing her knife. " I have never needed money that bad!" Jumping up slowly Raymond looks her in the eyes, as he rubs his jaw. " I didn't mean nothing like that M'Lady, I meant other ways of getting it. But this is not the place to talk about it. Shall we talk about it over supper tomorrow night, I can see that you are some what worn from your travels."

"I think we can, as long as it is in a well public place. I bid you a fair good night." Standing, Rana can feel eyes following her up the stairs, as her mind wonders, and mumbling. "What have I gotten myself in." Not seeing the tall dark figure watching all from the corner table, as he puts his sword back at his side. He goes by the name of Rain, who has  black hair and sharp blue eyes, and a distinctive mark on his face. He wears fine clothing and wields a short sword. At his side is an animal companion, a Dragon named Marey.

After a fitful night of cold dreams, Rana goes to the Hall of Records, in the nicer part of town, a place she would never belong to. Seeing all the shops with green dresses, her favorite color, only to walk on by. Opening the door to the Hall of Records she see's a male dwarf , with a name tag of Haki, he is rugged in appearance, with uneven white hair and narrow brown eyes. He wears leather like armor and wields a fauchard-fork knife that he is sticking into a ham hock, laying in his plate. Haki speaks with a mousy voice, " Sorry we are closed for lunch." Not looking up at her. " But its nine o'clock in the morning!" Rana splits back at him quickly. Looking up at her now, as he points the knife at her. "My office, my rules young lady, come back in about an hour." Snorting as he goes back to eating.

Coming back an hour later, she meets Haki at the door, just as he is turning the key in the door. " Sorry lady, got to meet a friend for a few drinks down at The Naked Warrior, come back in the morning." Grabbing him by the arm, she spins him around, " Look now, you just had luch at nine and would not help me, now you closing at ten for drinks?" Shaking his arm loose, rubbing it from her grip, he stares at her. " Lady, I see you are not from these parts, money talks, everything else walks. Unless you got more money than it looks like you do, come back when you can round some up!" Rubbing his belly as he heads into the center of town. Frowning, Rana figures Raymond must have been correct in how the goverment run here. Guess she would have to wait and talk with him over supper, after all he was buying. Plus he didn't look that bad either, supper and drinks where looking better.

Meeting Raymond at The Hungry Trickster, by the note he had left with Hlakea the innkeeper, it is located in a noble quarter, known for its grand manors. Its neighbors include a private garden and a verdant public garden. Rana walks in looking like a lost sheep in the woods, hearing her name called out. "Over here Rana, wasn't sure you would show." As Raymond stands, pulling a chair out for her. " I hope you had a good nights sleep." As he pours her a glass of fine wine. Then the next thing Rana knew, she awoke in jail.
