When I built my first house, I designed the interior myself and chose all furnishings. While I was criticized for using a major department store's decorating service, it did not stop me. The local florist melbourne contributed all the necessary accent pieces to complete my collage of my own personality.

One of the things that made my house into a home was the use of plants and floral arrangements. By using Fung Shue, I was able to eliminate ill feelings within the house. My entry led the eye to a mural mirror and directly to the left was a cherry dining table and hutch. The server was blah and the dining room table had no centerpiece. I tried fad with a deadwood branch in the center. It was lifeless and was soon replaced with a bouquet of mixed fall flowers and evergreen houseplants. It was alive and stimulated the appetite. Above the server, I designed a wreath of straw with deep copper silk lilies bowing on the bottom. It blended well and a statue of a police officer holding a small child made the server seem worthwhile.

The cocktail tables in the off-white living room were of fruitwood so a nice duck planter with snake plant in it offset the native lamps. The green effect on the neutral applauded itself. The kitchen alcove was well lighted with sunshine and houseplants flourished. Splashes of color in daisies in small vases brought the French blue and peach together.

Flowers are so vital to mood enhancement. The family room had the brightest colors of the flower shop in it. Some silk day lilies kept me in tune with the never ending mountain scape. The scent of roses freshened the air without chemical influx. Nothing needing water was near the electronic equipment or the computer. Bedrooms were bursting with lavendar.
