Artificial Recharge Measures in Tirupati and Rajahmundry Sandstone Areas
•40 sq. km of Tirupati and Rajahmundry Sandstone area was studied through hydrological parameters. •The analysis indicates from the Sep/Oct 2005 rainfall recharge process that a daily rainfall of 7 mm on an average can yield in a rise of about 29 cm of GW level in the aquifer.
Software: MS Office in documentation and analysis resulted to a further study on Pushkar Lift Irrigation Project as purpose drive study.

Development of Hydrological Management Models for East Coastal Deltaic Region Scope: Preparation of Figures/designs using Excel. Data preparation for running SHARP, SEWAT Models after preprocessing using Visual MODFLOW package for scientific studies of groundwater management in south India •Surface water availability shows temporal fluctuation in terms of floods and droughts and groundwater availability shows main spatial variability in terms of quality and quantity due to the hydrogeologic settings, boundary conditions and aquifer properties so that optimal allocation of surface water and groundwater could be possible under given conditions •A system of cooperative wells is proposed to supplement surface sources to meet the demand during non-monsoon periods. A SHARP interface model is used on a regional basis, validated as field scale example |
2003…2002

Spatial Variation of Hydrological Characteristics in Selected Watershed in Hard Rock Area •On natural watershed even in the unusual situation completely uniform rainfall, there are spatial variation in the supply rate to the surface of the soil •Vegetation reduces impact of energy droplets so reducing surface slacking and crusting •Highest rate of infiltration and hydraulic conductivity were observed in the forested region underlain by red soils
Software: MS Office |
2001 …1999

Artificial Recharge Measures in Hard Rock and Alluvium Areas in Maharashtra
•Hydro meteorological parameters of Bamnod, Ozhar and BM 60 watershed of Maharashtra were observed and developed using Visual MODFLOW and simulations were carried out after collection of data and Field Tests •Feasibility / Technical evaluation of artificial recharge of groundwater using some of the conventional techniques such as conservation and injection of surplus water available after conjunctive use of surface and groundwater.
Software: Developed a model using Visual Modflow package for three watersheds in Maharashtra |

Sensitivity Analysis of Aquifer Parameters of Anantapur District, AP
•Five methods for analysis of pump test data for six different wells of large diameter were studied for pumping and draw down phase in Anantapur District, AP •Advanced mathematical tools used and found that Popodopulus method of pumping test data analysis is found most reliable for pumping test design •Kumaraswamy’s method is considered best for recovery phase.
Software: MAPLE, Fortran Programming, MS Office |
1997…1996

Groundwater Quality Modeling of Nargund and Navalgund Taluks
•Field studies were conducted for Infiltration, Pump test of wells •SWIFT II was used for Chloride (nonreactive pollutant) modelling for small area •Conjunctive use of Surface and Groundwater is certainly a better prospect available for remedial of groundwater quality •Soil reclamation and limited fertilizer use may immediately be taken up Pilot study for delieneating rural water supply resources and conjunctive use strategies for Nagrund and Navalgund area in Dharwar District under Malaprabaha Command

Groundwater Modelling in Ghataprabha Subbasin of Krishna River Basin A two layered finite difference model has been generated for groundwater flow analysis of Ghataprabha sub basin of Krishna river basin. The conceptual model has been calibtrated for steady state condition and validated for steady steate and transient condition through USGS 3D finite Difference Code MODFLOW. • Our simulation results encourage to maintain higher water level in the Ghataprabha river reach downstream of Hidkal Dam site and also in Hiranyakeshi river, adjoining tributary of the Ghataprabha river •Interface between Ghata prabha river and conceptualized Ghataprabha basin aquifer •Hydrological analysis of the water logging problems and future of wells in Ghataprabha sub basin •Hydrological Design of wells •Set of injection wells in the Hukkeri region •Rise in water level in the Ghataprabha river in the down stream of hidkal dam •Rise in the water level in Hiranyakeshi River •Underground check dam all along the chikodi Branch canal
Software: MS office & Fortran Programming |
1995…1994

Failure of Open Wells In Hukkeri Taluk, Karnataka •Field Tests such as pumping tests (9 wells) Infiltration Test, Guelph permeameter test conducted •Less rainfall, more evaporation, intermittent stream flows due to extensive lift irrigation from wells and minimum soil cover may be one of the reasons for failure of wells that were nearly penetrating and drawing water from unconfined aquifer through joints and fractures of trap, sandstone and quartzite formations. Quantitative failure of any open well is the reciprocal of the disbalance between yield and exploitation of groundwater •One percolation tank in each village and possible tapping of all tributaries with under ground check dams.
