Hi there and welcome to my website! My name is Shannon. I live in beautiful Ferndale California with my husband Travis and our new baby girl Mikayla. For those of you who don't know Ferndale it is in Humboldt County, we're 5 minutes away from the ocean and 20 minutes away from the most gorgeous place on earth.. the redwoods. Our own little slice of Heaven here on earth! For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of raising Great Danes. So now that my dreams are coming true it really feels like Heaven!!
I once saw a photo of my oldest brother sleeping in a bassinet and a huge pure black Great Dane standing beside him.. she was standing there.. looking into the bassinet without even stretching a muscle.. her body was so tall and glamorous.. she looked like an angel watching over him. It was gorgeous. I knew someday.. I would own and raise Great Danes.
Now it's finally my turn for my dreams to come true! I own Sonador & Major. My mom Kim owns Hannah. Besides my two Danes, we also own "Mighty Mouse" my Chihuahua (yes he does beat up the Danes and yes he does rule the roost, nobody messes with him when he is on his little pillow!), our little Beagle "Wrangler" (my husbands truck dog), "Dallas" my shepherd/golden that I have fostered and gotten back 5 times (never his fault!) and he is now almost 11 years old and Heartworm positive so he is with me now for life! Then we have our 3 horses Joker, Dakota and Star. It is a full house!! But we just work hard to keep everyone happy and spoiled!
These dogs are our furry kids, we are not backyard breeders at all. They are not rotting in a kennel out in the mud or amongst 10 other dogs there for breeding purposes only! These dogs are in the house, with the family, laying on huge pillows (or the couch when daddy isn't home!), chewing on huge bones from the local meat market and sleeping in front of the fire place. They each have several collars and leashes with their "bling" on it, they have their clothing and rain jackets.. Soni loves to get her nails painted..
Like I said.. they are part of the family!!!
