Welcome to the National Sports Video Gaming Association, better known as the NSVGA. The goal of the NSVGA is to provide our SELECT customer base with the closest simulation video gaming experience possible. Our players are made up of the "best of the best" simulation players around. Currently, the NSVGA is about to debut our first league; a one on one, 18 team, 51 game season of NHL 09 from EA sports! Website updates will occur on a consistent basis throughout the league and the website will grow along with the league. Once we have finished our 1st season and have a true understanding of what "SIM" players want we will be able to move forward with larger leagues, more sports and team leagues!

| The NSVGA hockey league will consist of a 51 game regular season with each team playing each other 3 times during the regular season. Periods are set to 10 minutes each and the game speed is on slow. You MUST have a mic on during the game. Obviously you do not need to chat but the mic is there in case of any problems that may arise.
You are asked to play a minimum of 3 games per week. Obviously you are allowed more but please try and get 3 in so no one falls too far behind. Above is the owner list and xbox gamertags. Please add everyone to your friends list to make it easier to schedule games. This is a COMPLETE SIM LEAGUE. There is to be no glitching or cheesing of any kind. With the 18 owners that are here I obviously don't expect any but this is your warning. Cheese moves include (ALL TYPES OF CURVE SHOTS), (DUMPING THE PUCK INTO THE GOAL), (CHEAP WRAP AROUNDS), etc. We all know what constitutes cheese and unfair play. Cycle the puck, work it around the zone and don't take the same shot over and over. Bottom line..play pure hockey As well, if the goalie has the puck frozen and there are 2 defenders near you, don't push the puck up ice. Take the face off and don't look to catch someone out of position. Taking a shot off the faceoff is not against the rules. However, you are limited to 1 goal per game sending it to the wing and 1 slapshot from the "D" off the faceoff. With 2 minutes or less to go in the 3rd period however this rule does not apply. DO NOT PAUSE THE GAME IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING A GOAL! This causes face off glitches and will not be tolerated! As well, good communication is required during the game with no getting mad or cursing permitted. This is a fun league and expected to stay that way. There are 18 teams in the league. 12 teams will make the playoffs and will be seeded by # of points. Any ties will be broken by head to head records and then by a coin flip. The top four teams will receive a 1st round bye in the playoffs. Playoffs will be a best of 7 series. Trades are permitted but are regulated. Meaning, a team with 20 games played will not be allowed to trade with a team with 6 games played. You MUST be within a similar # of games, determined by the EA server. Injuries and created plays have been turned off and we are playing with NHL rules. As well, backup goalies must play a minimum of 8 games. You CANNOT play your backup goalie early on and then deal them to another team as their backup. Please keep things realistic. There is no double shifting of players and players must play their regulated positions. Meaning, forwards play forward, "D" plays "D" and goalies play "G". If the Ducks were in the league Niedermayer would NOT be allowed to play forward. You are however permitted 1 forward at the point on a 4 & 5 man power play unit. Please do not run the score up on your opponent. If you are up by 7 or more goals please dump the puck and drop back on "D". With the "no cheese" rule in effect I don't believe this will ever be a problem as scores should be within reason the majority of the time. If you are shorthanded please dump the puck the majority of the time. Catching the other team all pinching and taking a rush here and there is fine but play the PK like it should be played. This is a FUN league full of good sportsman! Please settle any disputes amongst yourselves. if you cannot settle something you can bring it to me and I will make a final decision.
