Hello and welcome to Bloody Playground! This is a Battle Royale fanfiction site using the basic components drawn by all three mediums (the novel, the manga, and the movies) and placing it with a new class and environment. Why did I do this? Well, aside from the fact that this draws the most freedom for the story, but I feel the need to recapture what happens when you can't escape the program and that truly only one survives. I'll also posting up artwork from the original and the story I am about to begin here on the internet.
What is Battle Royale?
Battle Royale was a novel written by Japanese author Koushoun Takami and was first published in 1999. It brought about a great controversy among the Japanese government, but its released was allowed. That same issue would be later brought up with the creation of the movie with the same results.
The tale is of an alternate universe where Japan has become a socialist government in a state of depression and youth running about without restrictions. It created the “Educational Reform Act” in response, a law that created “The Program.” The Program is where fifty classes are picked randomly at separate times of the year and sent to an evacuated area and forced to kill each other until one survives. While the government has stated their reasons (population control and juvenile control), it's often believed that it's meant to instill distrust between one another in Japan.
The Story
In this years final program, the class of 4-D in the To (Tokyo) Prefecture has been chosen to compete. In this odd arrangement of characters, none are willing to go out an kill. However, the most dangerous of person could be the one you least suspect...
Structure of Website
This site, once completed, will have:
-Four Sections for the Story:
These sections are separate stories revolving around the same event. The first three can be considered the main characters' stories while the fourth go into the minor characters' stories and their involvement. These sections will be shown as: Ichigo, Nayoko, and Usuka; Rei and Naomi; Ringo and Ryoichi; and finally, Remenants.
-Two Sections of Additional Information:
These two sections will give information about the characters that may not have been known through the story. One section will be the Character list and Roster while the other will cover the basics of the original Battle Royale story.
