I have been a ham radio operator since 1980. I have seen many changes in ham radio but the newer digital modes have really re-kindled my interest. In the beginning, it was all cw operating for me but when PSK31 came along about 2000, I tried it and some other modes that I had never used. SSTV is a great mode. Also now, WSPR has become popular. WSPR (whisper) is a very low power form and many people use less than one watt power output. It's amazing how well it works.
