Surefire My Oh Myah

Myah was the first pedigree imported white shepherd to come to Australia purchased for the purpose of expanding the bloodlines of Australian stock. She came from America and had been registered there with the United Kennel Club.

She was imported privately by a couple not associated with any Shepherd Dog club, to Western Australia on Wednesday 4th May 2005 and went into quarantine for 30 days. Below are pictures of her in quarantine.

Myah was released from quarantine on Friday 4th June 2005.

Unfortunately Myah had been biting and scratching herself in quarantine and continued to do so when she was released. She was taken to the vet on the day after she was released from quarantine and her back was shaved to reveal a nasty inflammation where she had bitten herself. See picture below. She was put on cortisone cream however the itching continued and her back didn't improve.

Myah was sent to an owner of white German Shepherds in New South Wales and she was paid for some months later from the sale of the first litter of puppies. Her back healed quickly in New South Wales and she has continued to prosper her new owner.
