At the Almquist Invitational Track Meet Anna and Haley received medals while Savannah, Laddy, Christian, Alina, and Adrianna turned in excellent performances. Anna was second in both the discus and shot put, while Haley finished third in the shot put.

The softball team is 1-3 after losing another incredibly close game to league leading Dedham 6-5. They have now lost three games by one run. Next up is Greenbush Thursday, May 26.

Anna has pitched very well striking out 42 batters in 20+ innings, while Laddy has been starring with Anna at the plate. Haley is doing a great job catching, while Adrianna and Veronica have anchored the middle of the infield. Alina, Mia, Savannah, Natalie, Jayden, Brooke, and Kristen round out the squad.

In the track meet at Elsworth Veronica (5-6 Shot Put), Skyler (5=6 Discus), and Anna(7-8 Shot Put and Discus) finished in the winners' circle.

Some of the track team went to Belfast May 7 for the first Mid-Coast Relays. Anna finished 1st in the turbo jav, 2nd in the discus, and third in the shot put. Veronica finished fourth in all three throwing events. Anna and Veronica combined to ribbon as a team in all the throws. The boys' turbo jav team finished fourth as did the long jump team. The boys' sprint relay team finished sixth. Boys that participated were Gabe, Austin, Skyler, Josh and Cayd from Dedham.

The Airline Jets girls team defeated All Saints 24-21 to win the Division II Championship of the Mid-Maine League. It was a great team effort as the girls led from start to finish holding off a late surge by the Saints. Two three pointers were just off the mark in the waning seconds. This is the first championship for the girls in a number of years. The Jets advanced to the final by defeating Penobscot Christian in the semi-finals. The final league record for the girls was 5-6. The roster included just eight girls: Anna, Haley, Adrianna, Alina, Laddy, Veronica, Savannah, and Mia.

The Airline boys fell in their opening round game to Calvary Chapel and finished with a league mark of 1-8. The boys will miss their lone 8th grader, Andrew, but there will be an enthusiastic corps coming back: Christian, Gabe, Sam, Skyler, Oliver, Austin, Zack, Max, and Josh. The future looks bright!

The soccer team finished with an overall record of 5-3. They received both the Runner-up Trophy as well as the Sportsmanship Trophy for the Mid-Maine Coed Soccer League. The team was led by a balanced attack and a strong defense. Their three losses all came in close matches with Indian Island including the championship by a score of 2-0. The team consisted of 14 players: Anna, Andrew, Haley, Adrianna (8th Graders), Gabe, Christian, Laddy (7th Graders), Irene, Veronica, Oliver, Sam, Skyler (6th Graders), and Max and Zack (5th Graders). Great job, team! We'll miss you 8th graders.

The cross country team was led by previous outstanding performers Haley and Oliver. Sam, Trevor, Zack, Max, and Savannah also ran this year. Haley set a personal best in her final home meet. Good luck in high school, Haley!

A special thanks goes out to all those who helped with our concession stands. We had a very successful home season - THANKS!
