MOONLIGHT MADNESS TOURNAMENT RULES

  • 10 SHOT
    • Games played on Training/Protected Tables
    • "Matches are played in sets of 2 frames per player..
    • In each frame the player sits at the table and resets the table. The player then has 10 shots to sink as many balls as possible. All balls count, even the black.
    • At the end you will have 2 points taken off your score for every scratch.
    • The score for a frame is the number of balls sunk minus 2 points for each scratch.
    • The total score for the match is the sum of the scores for each frame. .
    • Following a scratch you must place the cue ball to the left of the line. You must not move any of the balls at any other time.
    • While one player is shooting the other player must count out the number of shots taken.

  • 4 CORNERS
    • Play on rated protected tables.
    • In a 4 corners tournament the aim is to only sink balls in the corner pockets
    • If you sink 1 of your balls in a corner pocket you take your next turn .
    • If you sink 1 of your balls in a corner pocket and 1 in a middle pocket you take your next turn
    • If you sink 1 of your balls in a middle pocket yahoo will give you another turn but you must hand it over to your opponent. Just tap the ball so it does not effect any of the other balls and your opponent takes ball in hand.
    • Sinking the 8 in a middle pocket is loss of game.

  • ALPHABET
    • All tables rated and protected.
    • Cue ball must be moved on break..
    • You must sink your balls in this order, black, green, orange, pink, purple, red, yellow (alphabetic order)
    • If you sink the wrong ball you pass the cue, just tap the ball to lose your turn.
    • If you sink one ball in the correct order and another goes in, it is still your turn.

  • BANK THE 8 OR CUE
    • Play On Rated & Protected Tables
    • Played as Reg 8 but the 8 ball must be banked either directly off a rail or using a cue bank (playing cue ball off a rail).
    • if you do not bank the 8 or cue you lose the game..

  • BANK ROBBERY
    • All games are played on rated, protected tables.
    • No bank shots are allowed at any time including the cue ball being banked into a ball
    • Accidental banks do not count as banks and you have to tap and give BIH to opponent if this occurs.
    • However, if you make a regular shot and another ball falls in after hitting a rail it is allowed .

  • BANKS N COMBOS
    • Played on rated, protected tables.
    • All Shots are to be either a combo or a bank.
    • Cue ball must be moved on break.
    • If this does not happen the player is to give ball in hand to opponent by tapping it
    • Game is played as normal but you need to combo (use 1 ball to hit another ball which goes in a pocket) or bank (play off of a rail ) ALL your shots
    • If this does not happen the player needs to give ball in hand to opponent by tapping it.

  • BAR POOL/BAULK
    • Firstly you need to know what is meant by "baulk line",
    • The "baulk line" is the line that you see drawn across the left hand end of the table. The tourney works like this.
    • Quite simply......
    • You must take every ball in hand from behind it - (to the left of it) - just like you are required to do when you break and shoot 'up' the table to the right - never back to the left. .
    • Failure to do so results in the loss of the game..

  • BLIND SWISS
    • Blind Swiss is a 5 round true Swiss tournament with special rules for each round (Swiss rules are every player plays every round unless they are asked to be removed from the Tournament.) .
    • ROUND 1 = Default 8 - Please see Rules for Default 8 if not sure
    • ROUND 2 = Last Pocket - Please see Rules for Last Pocket if not sure
    • ROUND 3 = Bank the 8 or Cue - Please see Rules for Bank the 8 or Cue if not sure
    • ROUND 4 = Reg 8 - Please see Rules for Reg 8 if not sure
    • ROUND 5 = 4 Corners - Please see Rules For 4 Corners if not Sure
    • The winner of this Tournament is whoever wins most games through 5 Rounds and Places 1st at the top of the table.

  • BOMB RACK N RUN
    • Bomb rack and run is played as normal rack n run with a twist the 8 ball must not be potted at any time and must still be on the table at the end of the rack.
    • It is normally played over two racks and you stand at 14 leaving the 8 ball unpotted then your opponent will try and do the same
    • In the even of a Tie then both players will keep playing racks till a winner is determined.

  • BAR POOL
    • All games are played on protected, rated tables.
    • No ball in hand allowed.
    • Scratch shot must be made from behind the line and not at anything already behind the line.

  • BLACK JACK
    • BlackJack is played on Protected TRAINING TABLES.
    • The players that goes first is the one that is alphabetically first and this will show on the table. The name on the top in the bottom right hand corner is the one that goes first..
    • The first player will break and if that person player misses shot on break they do not get a second shot. -it will be the next persons turn.
    • Players are to rotate shots on each turn until there is a winner.
    • Scoring is as follows:
      - All striped balls = 3 Points
      - Solid Yellow = 1 Point
      - Solid blue = 2 Points
      - Solid Red = 3 Points
      - Solid Purple = 4 Points
      - Solid Orange = 5 Points
      - Solid Green = 6 Points
      - Solid Pink = 7 Points
      - Solid Black = 8 Points
      - Bank Any Ball = 1 Point
    • If you find yourself in position to need one point you may bank any ball for one point at anytime in the game. Any ball made from a bank will equal 1 point only.
    • If you scratch on any shot and you make the shot you still get the points but ball in hand has to be taken from behind the white line at the left of the table. You may NOT shoot at any ball that is behind that line when you're shooting with ball in hand..

  • BLACK n BLUE
    • BlacknBlue is played on Protected Rated Tables.
    • Played like Regular 8 Ball.
    • 8 ball must be sunk in the same pocket as your blue ball..
    • Please state the pocket when your blue is sunk to avoid confusion. The blue ball may be sunk any time during the game. .
    • Scoring is as follows:
      - All striped balls = 3 Points
      - Solid Yellow = 1 Point
      - Solid blue = 2 Points
      - Solid Red = 3 Points
      - Solid Purple = 4 Points
      - Solid Orange = 5 Points
      - Solid Green = 6 Points
      - Solid Pink = 7 Points

  • BOOTEM
    • This tourney is to be played on a Protected Training table with the TD making the table and all players are to be at that table.
    • The object of the game is to make your shot and at the same time trying not to leave the next player a shot.
    • TD breaks at full power and each person takes one shot, all in alphabetical order. That will show at the bottom right of the table.
    • If you miss your shot, scratch, or shoot out of turn, then you get Booted from the table and thanks for playing.
    • If you reset the table you also get booted, this is because it can be classed as cheating
    • You could be trying to give yourself a better shot by doing so.
    • If a player shoots out of turn the TD must NOT reset the table, you carry on as the balls remain.
    • Following a scratch TD MUST place anywhere behined line...Player then must shoot forward unless the only balls left on table are behind line, then you may shoot at them, Td has the right to adjust but must be stated before any shots are taken
    • If a hard shot is left no-one may move the ball or reset table or any other tatics to give an easier shot. You play where the ball lands.
    • If the ball is move by a player then the player is d/q. If the TD moved the ball then a screenshot is to be sent to admin and it will be reviewed.
    • Winner is the last person standing at the table after all are booted.
    • This tourney can also be played in D/E format, using 2 tables. Each person that is booted from the first table goes to the second table to play and if you lose there that is your second match and you are out..........this second table follows the same format of play as the first table

  • BOOTEM-MAGIC
    • This is played as a normal bootem except the person who pots the black (8ball) gets to choose who to boot from the table! If you pot the black and the white together you may not choose who to boot and you must leave the table The black is now not in play until td resets the table for the next rack .

  • BOOTEM-BOMB
    • Bootem Rules Apply Same Bootem format except after the break the 8 ball cannot be touched or moved whatsoever. If a player does boooooom they get booted! If the 8 ball is the only ball remaining on the table then it can be sunk. .

  • FULL FORCE BOOTEM
    • Normal rules apply but every shot must be taken at full power Hold the shot for 3 secs so we see the power bar at full strength before releasing your shot .

  • PROGRESSIVE BOOTEM
    • Normal Bootem, except, on your first go you only have to sink 1 ball On your second time around you must shoot and pot 2 balls On third time its 3 balls etc. Should you pot one and miss the second etc then you lose and are booted .

  • BANKEM BOOTEM
    • Bootem Rules Apply Normal Bootem format although if you make a bank shot you may choose a player to be booted from the tournement The bank shot MUST be called, not only the pocket but the ball you will be banking or it WONT count and you cannot choose a player .

  • MAGIC BOOTEM
    • This is played as a normal bootem except the person who pots the black (8ball) gets to choose who to boot from the table! If you pot the black and the white together you may not choose who to boot and you must leave the table The black is now not in play until td resets the table for the next rack .

  • CALL ALL SHOTS
    • Played on protected rated tables Played as reg 8 but all shots must be called and wrote at table e.g red stripe Bottom Middle If a shot is not called then player must tap and give BIH to opponent If your ball goes into a pocket you have not called first you must Tap to give BIH to your opponent. .

  • CUE CONTROL
    • Played on PRESET TRAINING table
    • You will work from a pattern Made by the TD
    • You can only hit and make one ball at a time in any order
    • No Banks or Combos Allowed at any time during your turn
    • But if at any time you touch two or more balls in one shot your turn is over
    • First shot only you may place the cue anywhere on table
    • Player with highest count after all get a turn is the winner
    • EXAMPLE: First player makes 5, The Second player must make 5 to stay in the game 6 Will knock out the first player and so on.
    • In event of a tie, they will play again
    • If you clear the table, your turn is over and you stop and stand.
    • TD will arrange the balls to a specific table layout.

  • CRAZY EIGHT
    • Games are played as regular 8ball, with all normal league rules applied until the 8ball. When shooting the 8ball, your opponent may call any pocket on the table. The pocket called remains the same throughout the rest of the game If you fail to pocket the 8ball in the called pocket, you will not be declared winner.

  • DEFAULT 8
    • Regular tourney rules apply. This game is played as a standard pool game EXCEPT for the sinking of the 8 For the 8 ball shot the 8 ball must be potted into the default pocket which is the TOP MIDDLE pocket .

  • FIRST POCKET
    • All tables are normal rated/protected tables. Played as reg 8 Similar to Last pocket but whatever pocket your first ball goes into then thats where the 8 must be played State your First Pocket at Table so opponent knows what pocket you shot into, if you do not name pocket and you shoot the 8 into that pocket you lose the game the same way you do in Last Pocket.

  • FIRST TO 30
    • All tables are training tables and protected.
    • The object of the game is to pocket 30 balls before your opponent.
    • One player sits and starts to shoot any ball on table.
    • SCRATCH ON BREAK DOES NOT COUNT , Collect ball, and shoot behind the line.( **Shooting behind the line is defined as placing the cue ball to the left of the line, and shooting a ball to the right of the line.
    • Keep shooting until you miss or scratch.
    • If you miss or scratch stop shooting and count balls pocketed and stand.
    • Then it is opponents turn to shoot.
    • Keep taking turns, continuing your total every time you are shooting.
    • There is no limit to amount of shots per turn, if you run out of balls re rack and start again continuing the count.
    • Keep taking turns shooting until someone had pocketed 30 balls total.
    • The player that reaches 30 first advances.
    • If you move the cue at any stage with an exception to the break your turn is over and you must count balls made.
    • If you scratch on break, you can keep going, but you must shoot from behind the line.
    • You may not put the cue to the left of the line, and shoot a ball also on the left of the line**

  • FLAWLESS
    • The aim of a "Flawless" tourney is to NOT make any mistakes whatsoever (SO DO NOT SCRATCH OR GIVE BIH) - you make a mistake and you lose!!!
    • If you lose by making a mistake then you must forfeit the game to your opponent do NOT continue to play out the game.
    • Play on protected rated tables..

  • FULL POWER
    • In full force every shot must be taken at full power.
    • If you do not take a shot at full power and you sink one of your balls you must tap the cueball in your next shot to give your opponent ball in hand If you do not take a shot at full power and do not sink any of your balls your opponent will tap the cueball and you must also tap it, to give your opponent ball in hand.

  • HIGH/LOW
    • Played as reg 8 but if you are stripes you must shoot in the top 3 pockets and the 8 in the Bottom Middle pocket
    • If you are solids you must shoot in the Bottom 3 Pockets and the 8 in the Top Middle Pocket
    • If a ball goes in the wrong pocket E.G solid goes in a top pocket or Stripe goes in a bottom pocket then you must tap and give BIH to your opponent.

  • KILLER
    • Killer is a 1v1v1 format tournament. Each player has three lives to begin with, and the aim is to be the only one with any lives left.
    • This is the procedure for a break:
    • The player at the top of the list on the standings page takes the seat and breaks:
    • If the player sinks a coloured ball then the players turn is over
    • If the player scratches then the player loses 1 life and the players turn is over
    • If the player does not sink a ball or scratch the player does not lose a life and has another shot
    • This is the procedure for a normal shot:
    • The player sits and takes one shot:
    • If the player sinks a coloured ball the player stands and it is the next players turn
    • If the player scratches but sinks a ball the player loses 1 life
    • If the player scratches and does not sink a coloured ball the player loses 1 life
    • All games are to be played on protected training tables
    • You can sink any ball you like, but if you sink the black then you gain a life back
    • Following a scratch the player has ball in hand and can place the cueball anywhere, the cueball must not be moved at any other time
    • If all of the balls are sunk the table is reset and play continues
    • The last player with one or more lives is the winner.

  • LAST POCKET
    • Tables to be rated and protected.
    • Move the cue ball on break.
    • Play regular pool until on the 8 ball.
    • The 8 ball must be played into the pocket that your last ball went in.
    • If it isn't ---- you lose!
    • Player must type on table their LP so opponent can see, if opponent fails to state pocket then he/she loses. .
    • Two players may have the same last pocket.
    • If it gets to the point in the game where ur opponent cant make an LP due to 8 ball being in a pocket it is auto RR

  • LADIES AND GENTS
    • Played as reg 8 but when on 8 gents must finish the game using bank the 8 or cue rules and ladies will finish the game by Last Pocket rules.

  • LONGITUDE AND LATITUDE
    • All tables rated and protected
    • Cue ball must be moved on break
    • Which ever side your first ball falls in (top or bottom) All your other balls including the 8 must fall in that side as well
    • Opponent has the opposite side of the table.

  • MYSTERY POCKET
    • Played as reg 8 ball but when on 8 you must ask TD for pocket in Lobby that pocket stays yours for the remainder of the game you are playing
    • When next Round starts TD must be asked again for the pocket in which to shoot the 8.

  • NERVE RACKER
    • TRUE HONESTY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS GAME SO TO ENSURE FAIR PLAY OF THE GAME TD MAY ASK YOU TO CAM THE GAME USING CAMTASIA, OR FAILING THAT THEY MAY ASK ANOTHER MEMBER TO WATCH THE GAME
    • The object of the game is to run the table before your opponent does.
    • Td creates both protected training table and invite 1 opponent on seperate tables.
    • ~ NO bih after break is made.
    • Be sure you are ready at the same time & can both see the lobby.
    • Set table, including moving cue on break and setting up english!
    • Type READY in lobby when ready.
    • Watch for TD to say GOOOO!
    • After you have ran your table, go to lobby & type in "done" in lobby.
    • If you are first to type it in, you are winner
    • if you scratch, please set cue anywhere on table, and continue to shoot.
    • If you reset the table at any point during the game, means an automatic loss!

    • Tables to be rated and protected.
    • Game is played as normal.
    • Cue ball must be moved on break.
    • Every shot must be called .. including banks i.e. red in top left using right rail. or black stripe in lower middle using top rail.
    • If you fail to make the ball you call.. you lose your turn.
    • If you make a ball other than the one called you must tap to give control to opponent.
    • If you fail to call your shot its a tap.
    • Failure to call twice forfeits game.
    • All other regulation 8 ball rules apply.
    • No ball in hand unless opponent sinks cue ball
    • If a player has no shot. he may call safety and hit the cue to break up the balls or snooker the cue. NO ball should sink.
    • Tapping is hitting the cue ball as easily as possible so as not to move it . but just give control. .

  • ONE FIVE ZERO
    • Played on training tables
    • Each Pocket is worth Points
    • Middles = 10 points
    • Corners = 5 points
    • The aim of this tournament is to score more points than your opponent in 1 rack of balls
    • -2 points if you scratch and ball must be played behind the baulk line and shot forward only
    • If you manage to drop the 8 ball in any pocket at the start without any other balls down you will gain 20 points
    • but u only get one chance to drop the 8 from start if you miss it then you must carry on and the 8 becomes a regular ball.
    • One with most points at the end of 1 rack each wins.

  • OPPOSITES ATTRACT
    • All tables rated and protected.
    • Game is played as normal.
    • Cue ball must be moved on break.
    • The first pocket you sink a ball in is your pocket and the opposite pocket.
    • i.e. if you sink bottom right then you have bottom right and top left.
    • If you sink two balls first, if they are stripe and a solid then you may pick which one you want and you get that pocket.
    • All balls must go in only your assigned pockets
    • .
    • If you sink in a wrong pocket pass the cue by tapping with no power.
    • NO ball in hand from a tap - take it from where it lies.

  • OUT OF BOUNDS
    • This game is played on rated protected Tables
    • The Object of this game is to clean the table along the Regular 8 rules
    • The difference is the TD will announce a pocket at the beginning of the tourney that you are not allowed to shoot at
    • If you do so - on accident or on purpose - You Lose!
    • The cue ball scratching in the out of bounds pocket does not count as an auto-loss unless of course it's with the 8 ball.

  • PICK YOUR POCKET
    • This game is played on rated protected Tables
    • The aim of the game is for both players to call pocket for the 8 before break pocket must be stated at table
    • When on 8 then it must go into the pocket specified by the player
    • if it goes in another pocket that was not called before break then you lose. .

  • RED BALL LAST
    • In red ball last you must sink your red ball last, before you go for the 8
    • If you sink your red ball while you have other balls from your set on the table you lose the game and must forfeit to give your opponent the win
    • If you sink your opponents red ball at any time you lose and must cancel the game.
    • If you have 1 ball left on the table before the red and you combo them and they both pot,
    • As long as the red ball falls last, it counts as rbl and you may carry on.
    • If the red ball shows as potted first before your last ball then you must forfiet game and you lose.
    • Play on rated or unrated protected tables (it is the inviters choice to whether the table is rated or unrated).

  • RACK AND RUN
    • The aim of RACK AND RUN is to sink more balls than your opponent over 2 frames
    • ,
    • If you scratch or miss (not including the break) it becomes your opponents turn.
    • All balls, stripes or solids (Not the Cue ball) are worth the same which is 1 point
    • Play on protected training tables
    • The player with the higher Yahoo rating breaks
    • Any form of break, except the Purple Ball Break, is allowed as long as the cueball is to the left of the line.
    • If No ball is potted on the Break, the player gets another shot.
    • If the player puts in all 15 balls, The table is Reset and his/her turn continues.
    • If the player Misses on the Break, he/she takes another shot. Any balls sunk on the same shot as a scratch are still counted
    • If you scratch on break, you auto rerack
    • BIH is not to be taken at any time other than the break. Any coloured balls must never be moved
    • The player who sinks the most balls (in no particular order) at the end of 2 frames is the winner * 3 frames in finals.
    • After a player misses or scratches, the next player Resets the table and begins.

  • RODEO
    • Protected Rated Table
    • Played like regular 8 ball.
    • When it gets down to the 8, you must try to pot it in the top left corner,
    • If you miss then the next shot you pot it in the Top Middle pocket, then Top Right, Bottom Right, Bottom Middle, Bottom
    • Left, Top Left again and continue till the 8 ball is potted.

  • ROTARY POOL
    • You must pot your balls by rotating the pockets clockwise.
    • For example, you pot your first ball in the top right pocket; you must pot your second ball in the bottom right pocket, third ball in bottom middle pocket and so on
    • Until you have made all of your balls and the 8 ball in a clockwise pattern.
    • Failure to advance to the next pocket clockwise will result in giving BIH to your opponent.
    • Play continues until winner pots 8-ball in the correct rotated pocket.

  • REVENGE
    • Played as a normal game until the 8ball.
    • When shooting the 8ball, the opponent gets to call how the 8 must be sunk.
    • Either by banking it, calling a pocket or full power.
    • Double or triple banking can not be specified.
    • If the person misses and their opponent eventually gets a shot at sinking the 8, they too will dictate their opponents option.
    • HERE'S THE CATCH, you can't call the same finishing shot twice in a row.
    • You may only choose those 3 ways to sink the 8ball but you are not allowed to choose the same way twice in a row.
    • If 8 is pocketed other then how specified by opponent, then you will not be declared the winner..

  • SILENCE
    • Played On Rated And Protected Tables.
    • Once you are at the table you must not say anything, for any reason, regardless of what is said.
    • You must ignore and say nothing if you talk one word or one letter you lose!!!
    • Even if someone comes onto the table and talks to you, to make you talk, you must say nothing till game is over.
    • Once game is over you must leave silently and announce your win or loss to lobby.
    • GL and GG are assumed.
    • Entrapment counts so watch out for those tricky people.
    • You can talk in the lobby and you can go to other tables and talk.
    • You cannot talk on the table in which you are playing your opponent.
    • Repeat on this, do not say ANYTHING, not even GL or you lose..

  • SPEEDBALL
    • The Object of the game is to clear all the balls off the table as fast as you can and hope your time is faster then what your opponents is.
    • All Games are to be played on a training table and TD will invite the pairs to a table.
    • TD is the official timer of all games.
    • You can sink the ball in any order - for example you can shoot the 8 in first if you wish.
    • If you scratch at any time, including on the break, the game is not over, you take BIH (ball in hand) put it on the table and start shooting again.
    • But when you do scratch 5 SECONDS is added to your time at the end of your turn.
    • THE TD IS THE OFFICIAL TIME KEEPER NO QUESTIONS ASKED - IF THAT WAS NOT STATED CLEARLY ENOUGH.

    • The Object of the game is to pot 8 asasp.
    • All Games are to be played on a unrated table.
    • Balls must be established before 8 is made.
    • You can use your own balls to combo but not oppomnents.
    • There is NO BIH at anytime in Suicide.

  • WHO DO YOU TRUST
    • All games are to be played on Unrated protected tables.
    • Regular 8 ball, until its time to sink the 8 ball,
    • Then you MUST invite someone else to take the 8 ball shot on your behalf.
    • You may invite anyone that is in the Tourney or league or even the TD.
    • If the person misses the 8 ball shot, and you get another chance, you can use the same person or invite someone else to take it.
    • So, Who Do You Trust to take your most important shot??

    • Played at unrated protected tables.
    • Regular 8.
    • At anytime the TD will come to your table and say 'Switch' and you and your opponent switch seats and continue playing.
    • The TD may show up more than once, or not at all, you never know.

    • Played as a normal game but....
    • Balls MUST be sunk in this ORDER, YELLOW, black, RED, ORANGE, GREEN, PURPLE AND PINK.
    • THE 8 BALL IS LAST
    • *IF YOU SINK A BALL OUT OF ORDER, YOU MUST GIVE "BALL IN HAND.
    • TO GIVE BALL IN HAND LIGHTLY TAP YOUR CUE BALL. .

    • Each will be asked to pick someone from the same tournament or the league to play the finals match for them
    • With the hope that they can play the rest of the game and win, while you get to sit and watch.
    • All games are played on Non/RATED/protected tables, Except for Finals.
    • Finals will be on Rated Tables.

    • Played as reg 8 but the 8 must be potted in the pocket under your name
    • so if you are in the left seat then you have to pot the 8
    • in the Top Left Pocket
    • and if you are in the right seat then you must pot the 8 into the Top Right Pocket
    • The winner is the one who pots the 8 in the right pocket if you pot in wrong pocket you Forfeit the match.

  • King/Queen
    • Always Reg 8 Winner gets 200 lg
    • Winner of previous week does not join tourney, they play winner for crown
    • If the winner of the previous week does not show up then the winner of the tourney gets the title.
