Cost of Mini Shih Tzu
I received 38 emails between Saturday and Sunday. So what I decided to do is answer each email with a copied text please see website for all information pricing and pictures of puppies. I hope that this didn’t offend anyone but I was just not able to answer 38 emails and upload the same 5 pictures 38 times! With that being said we opened a Facebook account this weekend as well and was pleasantly surprised in one day received 50 likes! We have ads posted on Next-day pets, Peoria Illinois Newspaper and E-bay pets. I tried https://puppiessalenearme.com/popular-dog-breeds-p36 ,you are allowed to post there unless it is a free down or a small rehoming fee. We also have our ad in Classifieds. There is so much work that goes into getting these puppies listed. I have been asked why do you price your puppies so high. First let me ask compared to what? I purchased my Shih Tzu’s at $850-$1300.00 Full disclosure here!. Then twice a year they see the vet for vaccinations, flea and tick, wormer and overall healthy pet check up. First year alone with vaccinations worming and registration your looking at spending over $500.00 or more (if your spaying/neutering) in healthy pet vet visits. If you are not prepared to spend that please do not purchase a puppy from us!!!
Then you have blood work and DNA verification along with the recommended health-screening test from AKC that your vet will perform on your breeding stock. Based on Wikipedia, count on spending $1000.00 or more for specialized testing if you get into breeding. Then let us talk about the litter itself. When the female dog is breed, she goes into the vet for two checkups one right after whelping and one right before at a visit an X-ray is taken to let the owner know how many puppies to expect. Before these puppies are born, the littler has already incurred $350-500.00 in cost. For each puppy you have in the litter it will need a visit to the vet at 2-3 days to remove its dewclaws. $35.00 – $50.00 per puppy. Then at 5-6 weeks, you take then back to the vet for a healthy puppy check up. They get their vaccinations and wormer. The veterinarian goes over each puppy to check it is healthy and bone structure.
