On this site you will be able to read some of my writings. And learn about the type of books and stuff I like to read. I am going to start with a short bio about me.

My name is Gracie Ruth McClain Southard Proctor I carry the southard name often because of my children. I was born In London KY 43 years ago. Over the course of my life I have seen a lot of changes in London. I guess the first thing I would like to write about is  How things have changed over the years.

When I was a little girl when they had parades and things they would last forever. Today  30 minutes top. The Christmas Parade would be long and they would always give the little children treat bags.

Police and Medical Crew and firefighter's back when I was younger at least they would speak to you but today a black person walks down the street they look at you like your going to do something. Not all of them but must of them.

Black fire. was the best fire fighter I knew in my life time. none of them today can even compare and I know quite a few of our local fire fighter. I guess the one thing stands in my mind about Black Fire He was my Grand father a highly respected man in the community. Know for his kind caring personality.

If someone house would burn down and they had children he would take money out of his pocket and tell them to by the children some stuff. today I personally don't know any fire fighter like that. I believe there are angels around us and keeping us all safe in some form are another. 

I also believe that when there is a major fire are rescue in the area that Black Fire as well as some of the others are watching over them, But that is just my beliefs but then I have a lot of beliefs.

The next thing I want to put on here is this: holidays and Family Traditions. I know there is a lot of people out there that don't celebrate Christmas but they celebrate Easter, Can't seem to figure that one out. but I celebrate Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Thanks giving what are you thankful for? Have you ever set down and asked your self that question? If not why don't you take sometime and ask that to yourself and the ones around you? And think about how you celebrate them.

My favorite Holidays would have to be Thanksgiving and Christmas  Then would be Halloween and the fourth of July, A lot of people claims that Halloween is a night of evil. I guess depending on how you look at it maybe it is Maybe it's not I am unsure. But I will touch on that more later in this web pages.

What does your Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Dinner consist of? turkey with all the fixing Pumpkin pie Egg nog etc? That is mostly how main goes. sometimes we switch and have something different.

The Christmas tree all the pretty lights and Decorations makes any young child's Eye's Light up. The brightly colored lights the hanging ornaments bright in color little hands want stop touching them. These are memories treasured in my life
