Development and designing are two different things, as part of comparison each field has its own benefits, all it needs is to fine tune your expertise in any field. Unless you are not expert in any field you cannot expect to earn a handsome amount of salary. There was a time when a perception was revolving in the market that if you are intermediate in multiple skills then you can earn good amount, but there were old perceptions which are now considered a myth. In present time you need to be an expert in one area rather intermediate in 2 areas.
If you honestly ask me, I would rather say, once a boss told me that no field
worth more valuable unless you are satisfied from inside. If you are satisfied
in whatever you are doing then believe me you can earn a good amount, the
reason behind is, if you are not satisfied then you might have to face too many
hurdles in your way and you will get lazy or someday you will leave it for no
reason. My boss used to tell me one more thing, do what you love or love what
you do.
If you will meet a person working as a developer he will ask you all the pros
of development and if you meet a designer he tell you the benefits of
designing, so you will feel like standing in the middle of the ring, that’s why
it is very important that what you want to do. Decide first and then stick to
your decision, be determinant, whatever the situation comes you will face all
the plus and minuses and never let bad circumstances overcome your mental strength.
To rule in the market, firstly you have to pass through toughest time, which is
called time of grinding.
In conclusion remarks I would rather include that development is necessary for
those who are working for technical clients, because if your client is
technical and want you to develop you more on the functionality of website then
you must go for development, on the other hand, if you are working for a client
who is only concerned about the look and feel of website overall then you can
become a web designer and in the IT market you will find both type of clients
on a large scale, so lastly it is the only you, who has to decide what you want
to
become, a developer or a designer.
