Welcome to our special site investigating Teens and Drug Abuse! We will be investigating several different drugs, or drug groups, which all have specific biological effects on the mind and body when abused. These include stimulants, hallucinogens, inhalants, marijuana, opiates, nicotine, methamphetamine, and steroids. In these lessons, we will investigate the effects that these drugs have on the anatomy and physiology of the body and brain. Additionally we will focus on the changes that take place both in behavior and emotions. Our goal is to promote an understanding of the dangerous impact drug abuse has on teens.
