Lehigh Valley Young Democratic Socialists of America

Democratic Socialism is the political ideology and movement in which society takes control, and aims influence over institutions to serve the public's good. The current toleration over limited democracy permits the interest of a lucky few, and will decline many of the mass majority's general interest. This is where the consistent display of inequalities, socially and politically, reemerge. To no surprise basic human needs undergo a threat under this practice. This is where Democratic Socialists take a stand, we believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically—to meet public needs, not to make profits for a few. To achieve a more just society, many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed through greater economic and social democracy so that ordinary Americans can participate in the many decisions that affect our lives.

This is the Valley's local DSA/YDS. It is open for the Socially Democratic Left, Progressives, and Like-Minded Individuals to contribute, discuss, and connect amongst one another. We emphasize working with one another, coordination, networking, and organizing together. You are welcomed to post upcoming events, as well as regional affairs, and issues.
