Customer reviews:

1. I have been searching for decent priced, stylish, comfortable flats. I found these Lucky Brand Emmie flats and thought they would fit my needs perfectly. I received them last week and wore them for the first time today. The quality of shoe is very nice! The inside padding is sufficient and super cushy. I am usually between a size 8.5 or 9 so I ordered the size 9 based upon the reviews that these ran slightly small. The size 9 fit me perfectly! I was skeptical that these shoes would rub the back of my heel since they are a semi scrunch style. The only problem that I am currently having is the shoe is rubbing along the seam near the upper side of my foot. I have been wearing them for several hours now and the shoe is digging even worse into my skin to the point that I have to take them off while at my desk (I attached a picture so you can see the exact area). I am hoping that this problem will correct itself after wearing the shoes a few times to break them in. If not I won't be investing in any more pairs, which is very disappointing because they are perfect in every other way.

2. I love the look of these ballet flats! Unfortunately when other customers say these run small, they do mean very small. I'm one of those people who wears a size somewhere in between 7.5 and 8. Sometimes an 8 is too large on my foot. I wish there was more of a universal standard for clothing sizes but that just isn't the case. I used Amazon's shoe size indicator and it said I should be fine if I ordered these shoes in an 8. So when the shoes arrived and I tried them on I was disappointed to find that an 8 was a tight fit on my foot. It rubbed in the heel, it was too tight on the sides, and my toes fit uncomfortably at the ends of the shoe. The main reason I purchased these ballet flats given all the sizing complaints was because they offered free returns. It's always a pain to return something but sometimes there is no other choice. So, back they go. I opted for an exchange and I'm hoping that an 8.5 will be just right. I hope, I hope! Because I really do like the style of this shoe! I will update my review when I get them.

3. Definitely size up on these. I normally wear an 8 but have very narrow feet. Previously I bought another pair of these in my normal size and thought they fit until a few hours into the day when I noticed they had been cutting into the back of my heel on one side as if I had a rubber band around my foot. This time around I bought an 8.5 and they are exactly the right length (though a bit too wide for my narrow feet). They are very comfortable and I can wear them all day while walking around with no discomfort. I walk a minimum of 2-3 miles a day so comfort in a flat is a must for me. They look fantastic for the price! The bourbon color is gorgeous, although my pair seemed to have been sitting around for awhile and needed some leather conditioner right out of the box.
