Top Three Landmarks in Lakewood CO 80227

Jefferson City was the first name given to Lakewood, Colorado, USA when it was incorporated in 1969. This name was later changed to Lakewood as a result of its general dislike and to prevent confusion with other cities of the same name in the state of Colorado and Missouri. Lakewood started out as a small community back in the late 19th century. It had no governing body until its incorporation and services like policing and firefighting were offered from other cities. Today, this place is a home rule municipality with beautiful historical and architectural Landmarks. These landmarks represent the history and culture of the area and the top three of them are:

The Stone House: this is a historic Landmark located at 2900 South Estes Street, Lakewood, CO 80227. It has been in existence since 1859. It is the remains of a 19th century building. It is a well visited tourist site with picnic areas, sport fields and play areas for kids.

Belmar Library: this is a unique architectural Landmark located at 555 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226. It is a library with its roof designed like a book. It provides the people of the city access to books and research materials covering different fields of study.

Lakewood Library: this is another library located at 10200 West 20th Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80215. It is one of the city’s most visited Landmarks as it provides people access to computers, wifi, books and many more.
