Breakthrough is a nation-wide academic enrichment program which mainly serves rising 7th and 8th graders. Students make a two-year commitment to attend school-year tutoring sessions and a six-week summer program taught by high school and college students. In some sites, however, the program has been extended to include students who have already completed their two-year commitment. Starting in 2006, Breakthrough San Jose started its own Alumni Program to offer another summer of learning.

Why create this website?

The Alumni Team hopes that as Breakthrough students enter high school, they will use this site as a way to keep in touch with their teachers (that's us) and other students (that's you). It is part of our grand plan to support our students as they work towards college education.
