Quick update for anyone checking in: We have the discussion board up and running. Not all the links to the other parts of the site are working yet, but our contact info should be up in the "contact us" section.

Also, check it - some high school districts are experimenting with "majors" for students. Supporters of the program argue that by making students choose a high school major, students will focus on real-world skills, develop their interests, and look better for colleges. Opponents argue that graduating 8th graders are way too young to be choosing a specific field of study. To them, the program sounds like a fad that takes away from opportunities for students to explore different interests. Anyway, take a minute to read about it and post your comments up in the discussion boards.

Welcome to the future website for the Breakthrough San Jose Alumni Center. This is an online support system for students who have been through the full number of summers offered by Breakthrough San Jose. Our goal for this site is to offer opportunities for students to access and share resources for a successful high school experience. The Alumni Team will add new content periodically, so keep tuned.
