My EVP's
EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomenon. It's the sounds (talking, whistling, breaths, etc.) of spirits that cannot always be heard by just your ears. EVP's can be recorded on cassette voice recorders, digital voice recorders and even camcorders. I use a digital voice recorder that I bought for $30 at Wal-Mart. I think it works great. My friend likes the voice recorders that use minicassettes better but uses both. I must add that there will be times when you will not capture any EVP's. Spirits make their presence known when they want...not always when you ask them to.
All you have to do to try to get EVP's is ask questions and give the spirits a bit of time to answer. Some questions you could ask are: "What is your name?", "How old are you?", "Do you want me/us to leave you alone?" Anything along those lines will work. Just remember to show respect.
Below are the best EVP's I have so far. Unless otherwise noted, the clips are ones I personally recorded on investigations. Check back often for the most recent EVP's collected.
My daughter, my sister, my brother and I visited Stone River Battlefield in Murfreesboro, TN on December 16, 2007. We took our digital voice recorders in hopes of getting some EVP at the Stone River National Cemetery. The only clip I have from my recorder is right before I turned it off. Someone whispers, "Hey!" The others were quite a ways behind me so it wasn't any of them.
January 22&23, 2008
My friend, Wayne (founder of S.I.G.H.T.), invited me to his house to investigate. A lot of the activity occurs on the basement stairs so that's where we started. I didn't get but two clips while in the basement. The first has to do with an apparition sighted in the living room of a blonde female. Curtis asks if anyone is there with blonde hair. It takes a bit but someone answers quietly, "Me. Me."
Wayne, Curtis, Creig and I were all sitting quitely when I captured this long drawn out whisper.
We came upstairs and, while everyone else was in the living room, I decided to sit in the laundry room. That's where the basement door is. Almost immediately I started hearing the basement door jiggle making a clicking noise. It happens immediately in the beginning, again after I ask if someone just came down the stairs and again after Wayne answers, "What?"
Curtis and Creig follow Wayne into the laundry room. After I explain the noise the door made, this is heard on the recording. I can't tell what it may be saying.
The door clicks again after I say, "Here's the tape recorder."
After Curtis asks if the spirit's going to hide, you immediately hear the door click open.
Curtis asks the spirit to open the door again. We say nothing after that to just listen. 30 seconds later, a man whispers, "He's not there."
Curtis asks for a sign and seconds later one is given on the recorder. A faint whistling is heard.
We're trying to figure out what Curtis just heard. We're no sooner done talking about it and a voice is captured saying something I can't make out.
I was alone in the laundry room again. You can hear the others talking in the other room. Then you hear a whisper and what sounds like a second person chuckling in the room with me. Since posting this EVP, I have listened to it several more times. I think it sounds like a female is saying something like, "Makes her laugh." Then a male answers something like, "Yeah, like she wants."
Wayne and I are back in the basement. I ask if the spirit's going to ignore us and it apparently answers. I'm not sure what it's saying but at the end it sounds like "Shhh!".

The following EVP's were captured from several different cemeteries in the area. The first says "I wanna go back."
In this one, the spirit knew what was going to happen next when they whispered, "Burp."
At the very end of this clip you can faintly hear a man say, "Please help me."
My brother and I thought it might be cool to get EVP in a cemetery the night it turned 06-06-2006. This next clip is one that we got that night that says, "F*** you" right after I take a picture.
On another trip to a cemetery, a friend of ours catches a young man saying, "It's me talking. I'm here."
This is one where a young girl's voice is heard saying, "Can you hear that?" Then, right next to the mic, a man chuckles then moans.
Here, my daughter and I are looking at a strange picture my mom took. Right after I say, "Cool" a spirit girl is heard copying me in a whisper and then my daughter says cool, too. After that, the girl whispers, "Don't leave."
