Welcome to my Signing Time Academy website!
My name is Courtney Nakagawa, a Master Signing Time Instructor.
I became an instructor because Signing Time truly makes learning American Sign Language vocabulary fun, and I fully believe in the importance in communication with babies and young children within the family.
As a graduate of Cal State Northridge’s Deaf Studies Undergrad program, my ultimate goal as an academy instructor is to not only teach basic American Sign Language vocabulary, but to also bridge the gap between the hearing and Deaf community by bringing awareness and understanding of the Deaf community and it’s language to the general hearing population. I have been studying Sign Language and the Deaf culture since 2005, and in this time, have even completed the Interpreter Training Program at Golden West College in Huntington Beach.
