Here Are some interesting facts about Shake Junt's foundation and brief history.

1. The Shake Junt name and brand derive from Three 6 Mafia’s song “Shake Junt.” The first Shake Junt video premiere was in Hollywood at the club Pearl.

2. Shane’s old friend, Kyle Haskins, introduced him to the song “Shake Junt” by DJ Paul. Shane originally just wanted to skate to the song but then he picked up a camera himself and started filming his friends. The footage grew and eventually led to making the Shake Junt video.

3. The entire Shake Junt video was edited by Shane Heyl in his one bedroom apartment, “The Dungeon,” on iMovie. Shane sold the video out of the trunk of his car and from his apartment. He had never written an invoice in his life before that.

4. Shake Junt is owned by Shane Heyl and distributed by Baker Boys Distribution. When the company first started, Shane Heyl was in rehab for 90 days. Mike, “Reno,” Hubert took control for the three months he was there. Rehab was a success, and Shane is still clean three and half years later.

5. The Shake Junt colors symbolize the everyday motivation: green for the money, gold for the honeys.

6. The first Shake Junt product was as very small and unorganized. Heyl started by putting iron-on graphics on T-shirts and by printing out paperback stickers and cutting out each one out individually with scissors.

7. Shake Junt’s first ad was in Luciana Ellington’s magazine called Check It Out. The ad was a picture of Jon, “Flip Nasty,” Colbert’s foot with a homemade tattoo on his ankle that spelled out “Shake Junt” while smashing Shane Heyl’s face in.

8. Shake Junt used to be under a production company called Goatmouf. Shane started it thinking that more projects would come after the video and he could place them all under the same roof. You can still type in goatmouf.com and it will take you to shakejunt.com

9. While living with Mike Maldonado’s grandmother, she would regularly make Shane fried catfish, collard greens, mashed potatoes all with a can of Canada Dry Ginger Ale. She also made sure Shane had a house key on a necklace he wore because he’d always lose it and ended up sleeping outside a few times. Shane would move back with her in a second still today.

10. Arizona homie, Josh Mott, helped create the logo and the animation of everyone’s name at the start of their parts in the video.

11. The “Wussup Haters” slogan was coined from Shane Heyl and was actually a Shane Heyl signature Baker T-shirt back in the day.

12. Aaron Pearcy was the first member of the crew to get a Shake Junt tattoo. Since then three more crew members have gotten them as well as numerous fans. One notable is a kid with “Wussup Haters” tatoooed on his gut jailhouse-style with Indian ink and some needles.

13 . There are only 2,000 original Shake Junt videos in existence, 500 of which are in Japan. When Shane went to Dustin Dollin’s wedding in Australia, he took 100 copies for a distributor there. He didn’t know certain steps had to be taken to bring product into another country and he was stopped at customs. He lied and said they were wedding gifts. They let him slide.
