It’s been a month now that the family of Shekhar Singh Tomar awaits justice to his brutal murder on20th March, 2012

. On the fateful night, as Shekhar partied out with his friends at the Panvel Dhaba, little did he know what lay ahead for him.

Soon after his party at around 12.30 am, he called his brother to inform him that he had packed food for him as well and was soon heading towards his room in koparkhairane along with his friend Sumeet tiwari . As the duo set out on their bike on the Palm Beach Road, with Shekhar at the back, a red sports car tried to intervene their path near Oranjes Circle. Fearing an accident, they scolded the Red Sports Car Driver who immediately slowed down to let the bike move ahead.

But as soon as they were ahead, the car sped to knock them down and then left the place quickly.

The scolding turned out to be fatal for Shekhar who died on the spot while his friend suffered injuries. He took Shekhar to a nearby Municipal hospital where he was declared dead. The only good thing that happened was that the car's number plate (the Red Sports Car number being PB 03 111) was found at the site of the incident. And the worst thing is in spite of lodging an FIR immediately the police are still unable to trace the owner of the car bearing a VIP number plate.

In an age where we boast of having information at our finger tips, is it really a difficult task to trace the owner of the car for our investigating team? Also this incident raises doubts about the value of a person's life which is peanuts for those in power.

A life lost for no reason has created such a void in Shekhar's family that they are still unable to come to terms with the loss.
