Trusting JR Smith
One
of the more intriguing NBA players in the league currently is JR Smith. Known
for his extreme natural talent, he has been a player who simply has never been
a star, but has always been pretty good. If you are in a fantasy basketball, is he worth the risk?
Playing
hard and wanting to win does not always seem to describe a player that many
feels is a huge frustration. Smith has always been a guy who plays hard, shoots
well and plays defense. His probably at times though is his shot selection and
attitude. It can sometimes rub coaches the wrong way. This could especially be
the case for Mike Woodson as he tries to build a championship team in New York.
Most FanDuellers already keep an eye on how many minutes he
gets per game. While he is talented enough to start, his major role in the NBA
seems to be that spark off the bench. If he can embrace that type of role, he
could be productive in the games and for fantasy owners. If he doesn’t, he
could quickly find himself out of New York and possibly out of the NBA.
When he is on fire shooting, not many players in the NBA are better. The important thing for him, and fantasy basketball owners, is that he does not try to force it. With other stars on the team, his shots are always going to come. He just needs to know his role and play the team game and he could be a valuable asset. Stop if you have read or heard this before about JR Smith, but it could finally be the time he changes and starts playing more mature basketball. You can only keep great talent down for so long.
