My venture in marketing started when I was about 7 years old. I can still remember my father telling me: “son, go out and make some dang friends.” Well, he didn’t exactly use those words but you get the point. I hopped on my bike, rode half a mile into a nearby neighborhood, and literally went door-to-door asking parents if there were any kids inside their house I could play with.See more-Networking marketing leadership
After knocking on probably 50 doors resulting in failure after failure I finally landed on a house with two kids my age. These two kids later became my best friends for years to come.
I didn’t stop there though. At the next house I found another friend, then another, and another, until I exhausted that entire cul de sac. That day I made ten brand new friends. They were friends that lasted years, many of whom I still know today.
The amazing thing about that story that I carried with me to this day was the fact that not one of them knew each other. It blew my mind, but taught me a valuable lesson that I didn’t put together until later.Whats new-
