Getting Ready for Yearbook Pictures


Most people will take at least one yearbook picture during their lifetime and while it might not be a big deal to them at the time, a yearbook picture is definitely an essential part of growing up. Yearbook pictures are placed in the yearbook which will allow you to keep the memories forever.


Your picture, along with pictures of friends, students, and staff members, will be placed in the yearbook. When you buy the yearbook, you will have these pictures and lifelong memories that can last you a lifetime. You will be able to remember important events and people that meant something to you at one point throughout your life.


Many schools allow the students to choose their own background for their yearbook picture. Some schools have a set background. Whether you can choose the background or have to use a set background, you will be able to find something to wear that goes well with the background that is being used.


If you are allowed to choose your own background, pick one that represent you, who you are, and what you like. There will often be designs and colored backgrounds offered tahat will allow you to actually personalize your picture in a way.


Once you have a background chosen and outfit that will match well with it, you can figure out how you want to look for your picture. Some people go all out for their yearbook pictures and others do not. What you definitely do want, is to look presentable for your yearbook picture because the yearbook can be held onto forever and is something you will look back on and possibly even show your children when they are old enough to understand.


Figure out what type of outfit and look you are comfortable wearing for your yearbook picture. If you like loose fitting clothes, wear them, even if it is not what someone else would wear. Remember, this is your personal picture, not anyone else. Do your hair the way you like, whether it is straight, wavy, or curly.


After you are dressed and completely ready for your picture, be sure to sit down with good posture and a nice pose. Good posture will good in a yearbook picture so be sure to sit up straight with your chest pointed forward. Along with good posture, a nice smile is definitely appreciate. You may not feel like smiling at the time but a smile looks so much better than a frown or a blank expression.


Most importantly, you should feel good about yourself when you are ready to take your yearbook picture. Dress in a way that makes you look and feel good regardless of what anyone else happens to think. When you look back at your yearbook, you will be grateful for this.
