An FEU business management graduate, the 22-year-old Daquis got the attention of the two German clubs when she went to Hannover, Germany to visit her family last February. While there she tried out and trained with the two teams.

Fellow guest player Michelle Carolino backed Daquis with 14 points spiked by an ace as the Lady Tamaraws, who finished third in this same conference last year, remained in contention for a seat in the quarterfinals of the event backed by Accel, Mikasa and Excelroof.

With Daquis and Bautista coming with thunderous spikes, the Lady Tamaraws dictated the tempo to secure the win in a little over an hour.

FEU underscored its dominance by leading in almost all departments – 8-5 in block and 5-1, in service aces.

Former MVP Nerissa Bautista had only 10 kills this time as she struggled in the face of FEU’s tough defense.

San Sebastian-Excelroof continued to lord it over the field with a 4-0 card, beating Perpetual Help, 27-25, 25-21, 25-18, also last Sunday to move a win away from formalizing its stint in the next round of the season-ending conference sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza.
